Show Me your PUSSY cats

I've always felt that dogs are breed for a purpose, while cats are breed for Chinese restaurants...I mean as pets. My wife and I have collected three of our own pets over the years.

First up is Moe, the youngest and most energetic. This guys loves to play, but also loves to keep your lap warm.

Before we got Moe, we picked up Deniro, who is more of the stereotype cat who just wants to be fed and left alone.

Then there is Churchill, the cat my wife and I got when we moved in together seven years ago. He is getting to be a curmudgeon in this old age, so we pick on him mercilessly.

I'm really a dog person, but I make room in the house for this kitty cats:

I like other people's cats, I would never own one. A friend has a Maine Cooon Cat. I like him, 'cause he acts like a dog.

Doc.

Doc is 100% correct. This is my Maine Coon - he passed away a few years ago, but he did indeed act more like a dog than a cat. He was bigger than many dogs, too - as you can see in the pic. He was over 20lbs, but not fat - just BIG. If I ever get another cat - it's definitely going to be a Coon.

We rescued this cat from our neighbors. He was going to be heading to the pound.

Felines are probably my favorite type of animal. I have an 8 year old Siamese named Candy. After I smoke a cigar, I let her sniff my finger. She seems to love the higher quality stuff like Opus X and Padrons the best. She acts more like a dog, she knows how to sit on command. Her personality is so unique and she makes everyone happy with her funny ways.

I was never really a cat person before I took with The Wife®. I still don't consider myself a "cat person" but I like ours.

Abigail and Jackson are brother and sister that we adopted from a rescue group. We were told they're Maine Coon mixes but we're not sure just how much. Jackson is a somewhat hefty boy, though.

We have another cat, Pippin, but I don't have a pic of him at hand. He's an ornery, little old bag of bones. If he lives to his next birthday in July, he'll be 21 years old, in human years. On top of that, he's polydactyl (complete with "thumbs") and snaggle-toothed, to boot.

They definitely look like coons. If they're ultra-friendly, super-smart cats that love attention...they're coons. Also, coons tend to make cricket-like chirping sounds. Oh - and they're generally big; 12-18 lbs. is average.

Well, I saw the title of this post and thought I should post a few pictures as therapy so maybe I wouldn't do something not fit for print.

I don't like Cats...period! I'm a Dog Guy.

Our daughter volunteered last Spring part time at our local ASPCA to help out a bit, it's a cause/charity we give to 12 months of the year. She's not working there a week when she comes home with a kitten while I was visiting my Mom in Florida for Mother's day....which was subsequently hidden from me when I got back while it lived in her bedroom! I finally found out 2 weeks later when my buddy across the street told me he has seen my daughter coming & going with a small animal carrier. I confronted her and my wife and at that point it was here to stay. I have aptly named this feline, "Stupid Cat"...

It sleeps, constantly, hanging under this metal & glass table we have...hence the name.

While my blind dog Rocco and I are harboring no affection toward this "Stupid Cat" for 4 months, my daughter strikes again. This time I was watching TV downstairs one night and I hear this constant running above me, like a stampede kinda thing. When I called up to my daughter to see what was going on, she said she was fooling around with "Stupid Cat" and Rocco in her room. Well, the next day when she went out with her boyfriend, I went up to her room to retrieve some missing drinking glasses to put in the dishwasher and low-and-behold, what do I find....two kittens in the same damn pet carrier! This time it's a brother and sister pairing...then when I let them out, it was like a tornado! The two of them and "Stoop" went crazy running all over my daughters room...like a stampede! "Feeling his way" upstairs comes Rocco and it's a free for all....that's what I heard the night before! Once again I was over ruled with the "they've been here for 3 weeks already, how can we give them up now" defense. They have been aptly named...

The last time I had cats, I raised them like dogs...and that was after college on a farm. So I'm doing the same thing now...they fetch, roll over, sit, come when called and leave when told. Through this 3 cat ordeal, the other thing I learned is that I'm no longer in control of my own household.

Anyone want some Cats?

Here's my kitty:

She loves hanging out in the backyard while I smoke a cigar. She chills underneath the chair.

We don't have cats of our own, well thats not totally true. For some reason a Mommy cat gave birth to what I can tell was 3 kittens under our shed about 2 months ago. Well two of them stuck around here for some reason even though our German Shepard pups have gotten pretty big lately (6 mo old now). They live under the shed and under the side of the house and they drive the dogs crazy because they will hang out in front of the house just so the dogs can see them when they are in the front room. We don't feed them but they do keep the mouse population down for us around the house.

Oh yeah, they definitely exhibit Maine Coon behavior. Both are very affectionate to the point of demanding it. While I can't really say they chirp very much, they're very vocal but not in an obnoxious way. Not at all like Pippin's yowling.

I know I posted a video of my two cats somewhere here before, but thought I'd re-introduce them via a few pictures!
