Wait a minute. You work for the gov't and yet if you do a search for Beth Wicklander nothing comes up on google. A more thorough search does indicate that you really are a real person. But you want to be trusted to run SS here? Maybe just join in this year, Elizabeth. Just a thought.

It will be a lot of work I bet this year, though, with the size of the forum now and all. Maybe Santa will need a helper after all.

Unfortunatley I do work for a local government and I try not to have my info put out over the net or anywhere else if possible......

AND I haven't seen anyone else want to do the job so I thought I'd step up, no biggie and I would be willing to just participate......

SteveHawk and I were just discussing this at poker last Wednesday night. I was going to offer to help CC, but I would offer to help Skrgrl74 as well.

I did do a search for Secret Santa about 2 months ago, and it seems that this is about the time when they have all started. And I don't see it as being that big of a deal, especially if it is run similar to 2001.

Eitherway, I am up for helping, covering, running, what have you the Secret Santa thread for 2005. I don't have an issue w/ Skrgrl74 taking the initiative and wanting to run it. But if CC or another member with more seniority on this board than she or I steps up to run Secret Santa this year, I don't have an issue with that either. And I am still offering my assistance in any fashion.

Either way, I think we should start to get this thread officially rolling soon.

That being said, I offer that someone else w/ more senority to step up over this weekend, and if not Skygrl74 will take this by the horns. And I offer to help any and all parties.

I participated in 3 of these on 2 different boards last year - there were no real problems encountered in any of these programs. The minimum value of the package was specified before you joined and the conditions were made known to everyone before we signed up (Only all handmade cigars allowed; no mystery smokes, all labels to be intact or in the case of Cuban Cabs prior to '04, the factory and date code were to be included).

2 of the Secret Santa's I was in were only Habana cigars and the 3rd was basically anything you wanted as long as the $$ value met the minimum (as determined by retail value - we were advised to use national houses like Cigar International or Famous or JR as guides to retail pricing). As I said - all 3 programs were really good experiences.

You know, I thought about this and came up with an idea. LMK what you think.

So, for example's sake, let's say Skrgrl74 and I offered to organize this. We could split the list down the middle or by A-Ma, and Mb-Z. She would get one side and I would get the other. She could organize whoever my secret santa would be and I would organize who her secret santa would be. That way the organizer would still get a Secret Santa, but not be able to influence who thier Secret Santa was.

can someone lead me to last year's link? I have only seen 2001/2002 I think. Just for informational purposes.

I have also PM'd CC and asked his thoughts and I am waiting for a response. So I will just sit tight and wait to hear.

I don't think last year's information is available, unless Rod has it backed up on the server. It had its own forum section and the whole section was removed after the new year.
