Which type of whiskey are you partial to?I am particularity to whiskey but open to alternative.

I've lost track of the price, but Balvenie Caribbean cask is also very good. I believe it's a similar price point.Not quite $100, but 12yo Balvinie Doublewood is a very nice bottle, wide appeal:

After a while if you dabble into the peated scotches, let me know as that tends to be my wheelhouse at the moment.
Try to find a local liquor store that offers tasting so you can try before you buy.
I don't know squat about rum, tequila, etc
