Poker Pass

Great plays everyone! This thing is really cruising right along. At this rate, I think we might set some sort of speed record for a pass :p . I'm sorry, I have been trying to update the cigar list and pass progress, but have been unsuccessful. At this time I only have access to a Mac with dial-up access. I'm sure much of my failure is due to my Mac illiteracy. I knew I should have brought the laptop on this trip, but I was trying to travel light. I will keep trying. Meanwhile, thanks to everyone who has played for making this a fast moving, successful, no drama havin', pass.

Hey Golfgar, check your PM's. I have a new shipping addy.

Is there any interest in the next few of us hooking up and doing a mini herf at the same time as our puts-n-takes?

Lemme know.

If my calculations are correct (and this does not account for wind speed and direction) the pass should be to tpntp by the second week of October. If a couple local folks are interested, I'd be happy to host a mini-herf at my house to do some puts/takes. However I'm heading out to Belize for a week on the 14th, so we'll see for sure where this is at as the dates and pass get closer.

It helps that three guys in the pass live in the same city and were all at the same mini-herf. ;)

I wouldn't FORGET to do that. But I have not made the proposed choices yet.

One observation, there were (are) a lot of Padron Anniverario's in the pass. Many shapes and sizes. There were far fewer Fuente's. So, I would propose the following P&T's

Take: Put:
42. CAO Brazilia Samba 51. Punch Gran Puro Sierra
39. Vegas Robaina Unicos 52. Uppman Mag 46 SLB ENE 05
6. La Unica Torpedo #1 53. Gurkha Anniversario Perfecto
47. Padron 40th Anniversary Natural 54. Aurora 100 Anos Churchill ???
9. Montectriso mini belicoso 55. HdM Hoyo du Prince SLB ABR 03

Need some help with a particular put, would you rather have the Aurora 100 Anos, ranked right up there with the 40th anniversary, a Cuaba Salomone Oct '03 ISOM, a Hemmingway Masterpiece, Anjeo Shark, Opus X Reserva d' Chateau or Power Ranger or a Partagas pyramid EL 2000?

The 100 Anos is ~$14 compared to $25 for the 40th Anniversary. IMO, none of those proposed puts are equitable (price-wise) to the 40th except the Partagas Pyramid EL which was only available in Canada if I recall. Just my opinion - it's up to the boss whether he will accept a Habano for a domestic...

Depending on where it came from, the Cuaba Salamones might be almost $25 as well. Just depends. The Partagas Pyramid I think was one of the first of the mainline ELs that were released from Habanos SA. They were re-released (actually requested by the distributor to Canada) in 2003. I think the one Larry is proposing is one of the originals. Don't know about anyone else, but I would consider that a fair trade. Those cigars were magnificent.

Just my 0.02. :)

Thanks Scot - I knew I was missing some info on the Pyramid EL. I too think that would be a fair put for the 40th.

It was the original 2000 release, the Cuaba was only $20 bucks and I have also Sublimes, but that was only about $20 bucks and I wasn't sure how much the 40th cigars cost, sorry about that didn't mean to insult anyone (I frankly do not have a domestic that costs that much either), therefore I changed the selection as follows:

Take/Put:
42. CAO Brazilia Samba 51. Carlos Torano Reserva Selecta Torpedo
39. Vegas Robaina Unicos 52. Monte #2 ABR '04
6. La Unica Torpedo #1 53. Gurkha Anniversario Perfecto
27. Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro 54. Hdm Double Corona 1998
9. Montectristo mini belicoso 55. LFD Double Ligero Chisel Maduro

Now everything should pretty much match up size, shape domestic/ISOM and price.
