Blair I can vouch for melski. Mel is a veteran of several cigar BB and is a great BOTL. He has been on the boards longer than I have! As he said he doesn't post much on any of the boards, like most of us, but he has started several boxpasses that I have been on which have been fantastic. I have herf with him many times over the last few years and I consider him a friend. :thumbs:

Also, I know it's your pass an' all but personally, I'd like to see melski in. I find CPass to be my favorite cigarBB on the net but I gotta say, when I go to other boards they're a little friendlier than some of our FNG's can be here.

When someone like melski who has a reputation on other boards comes here, he would be the first person I'd want IN my pass and I don't think he qualifies for the "newbie" lecture.

Members here have got to be careful not to turn others off from this site. I want to see CigarPass establish itself as THE cigar BB and we must welcome people who are new to this board with open arms.

Once they're here for a while THEN we can turn SamClemmons loose on them 'casue at that point everyone knows it's all just in fun :) :D :sign:

Melski, of course you are more than welcome to join if you still want to. Why didn't you say anything when you tried to join Gibu's pass? CP is the only forum that I am a part of, therefore your one post made to his pass was the only thing I could use on which to base a decision.

P.S. Bobbyson, vouched for you as well. Thanks Shadow and Bobbyson. :D

Mel has visited my local cigar shop on several occasions, and I have had an opportunity to speak with him at some length. His knowledge of cigars is very extensive. You would be fortunate to have him participate in your pass. BTW, among the members of this board, Mel is one of your closest neighbors.

Wow... what 14? players in 36+ hours... DUDE, thats got to be a record!?


First let me say, I personally wouldn't touch this "who to let in a pass" issue with a 10 foot pole- BUT I will say that, I'm far from a newbie (imho), and even farther from a FOG, but I stopped reading and participating in ASC because of the incredible amount of off topic crap posted there. and I do not participate in ANY other cigar forums, and was a member here for more than a year before my first post (long story). Here in Dallas, members from CW and other forums will travel here on business, or have a lay-over at DFW Airport enroute to another destination, whatever--- and the DFW Herfer's will meet in thier honor and herf our brains out... while many of the members of the group are very familiar with that person for whom we are honoring at this out of cycle herf- I'm almost always at a complete blank. Why? Because I do not frequent those boards or asc (anymore), and obviously have no idea who they are. SO bottom line to this is: if someone is known elsewhere- and well known as many of you probably are, I for one, am not- and I would not hold that against anyone else for NOT knowing if someone is popular/well known or even a FOG elsewhere. Not everyone can know everything - everytime. :) that's my .2¢ rant.

Welcome aboard Melski! Let me know if you wanna work a deal on those LFD Chisel's! I gots me some o-dem in my humi! :D
