Palio Cutters at Cigarmony.com!

The current shipment should be here on Sat, December 10th. They are almost sold out already with only a few remaining. (A new order is going in on Tuesday). If you order now, yours would be in the Post Office on Sunday - so you would have it on Tues/Wed.

A couple of quick notes. There were some "inferior" Palios sold by the previous Palio owner who was trying out a new blade, prior to selling the company to its current owners.

Rest assured, these Palios will be the ones that you have come to know and love as THE superior guillotine cutter.

Also, these cutters are not "plastic". They are constructed of a proprietary polymer. There is a night and day difference between the Palio and any other "plastic" cutter on the market. Not to mention an unheard of warranty.

Cigarmony.com is striving to create a place where anybody can feel confident in the products listed. All products listed will/have been used for a period of time and are listed because of their quality, price, performance and warranty/customer service by the mfg.

For instance, the Solo lighters are an inexpensive lighter but I have used the Trek for 2 years and have been pleased with it. I have had to send it back for service once but they had a quick turn around and I think it may have been the fuel that I was using. Also, it's a LIFETIME warranty even if it's lost or stolen! I have had to send back my $100 lighters and the customer service was nonexistent.

Anyway, you guys get the idea. I will/would not sell the Palios if I didn't believe it was a superior product.

Thanks for the support so far, it is GREATLY appreciated!

Sincerely,
Mark Neff

Great, thanks for taking the plunge.

I have an original, a bad one form when the old owners decided to cheapen it a bit and have used the new one. The new ones are as good or better than the original. I use the ones I have at home, but rarely carry it with me, as I use my pocket knife 90% of the time. But, I still would not be without one of these in my collection.

Now that the heads have cooled (CC you crazy bastard) I spoke with Mark and I'm putting together a group buy. If interested email me at shane@cigarchat.net
with "Palio" in the request line. From the thread it looks like allot of interest but will wait for reviews. Planning on shortly after the holidays to place the order.

Merry Christmas guys.
AVB still waiting for you to plan a get together. Maybe CC will come down from the great North.

The new Palios arrived late last night and I worked into the wee hours to process everyone's order and got them to the P.O. last night.

This morning, I uploaded pics of a quick comparison between the original Palio and the new production Palio.

The original Palio is on the left, the new Palio is on the right. As you can see from the cuts, there is NO difference in the operation and quality between the two. The only noticeable difference is the new gold in logo on the blades.

Buy with confidence my friends, you won't be disappointed!

appreciate the effort, paypal sent. :D

Okay Kids,

I am not normally one to buy things impulsively. When I decide to buy something and there are multiple alternatives for the product, I research the heck out of the alternatives. And when I decided that I wanted to shell out some significant money to buy a cutter, I started doing the research. Along with the Palio, I considered other high-end cutters like Xikar, Zino and Davidoff. While doing the research I read several hundred posts and comments about each cutter and I looked at the construction of each; I looked at the cutting action; I looked at the blades. I looked at every aspect that I could think of.

In the end I decided on the Palio. What sold me were the number of positive comments for the Palio. In all of the positive comments about the Palio I came across I don't think I came across one negative comment. The worst thing I read was that it was equal to the cutters that they were being compared to. More importantly, I don't recall reading any comment stating the opposite. I don't remember reading any comment about any cutter being compared to the Palio cutting as well as the Palio. The fact that that was not stated says a lot. And, I really liked the look of the cutter. It says "Class" to me.

I was very bummed out when I initially heard that the quality of the Palio had gone downhill due to the tooling of the blades being performed some where in Asia. I was disappointed about what had happened with the construction of the cutters after BOTL, LLC. had purchased the company. I had really believed in the product and I thought that the Palio cutter was history. It was certainly not a good start for a company taking responsibility for a well established product.

Thankfully the story that I had heard turned out to be false. Initial reports about the BOTL ownership of the Palio cutter are very good.

Mark of Palio and BOTL, LLC. stated this about the bad cutters that contributed to the bad reports about the new Palio cutters:
1. The batch that came in from MCCo. was just a plain issue of quality control with the old owners. Apparently, there was a faint upward curl in one of the blades that caused these to tear the caps.
2. The cutters are still made in the US with proprietary patents on the composition of the cutter casing consisting of iron and resin.
3. The blades are still 440 surgical steel.
4. They are still guaranteed for life under normal usage,

Although I did receive two of what were probably the last few Palio cutters produced under the old ownership, for what it's worth, I have complete faith that the Palio cutters produced under the ownership of BOTL, LLC. will be top notch again. And, I believe that they will be able to produce the cutters at the quantities needed to meet the initial demand because these guys are cigars smokers whereas the guys from Amyx-Christie, the creators of the Palio, were not.

Now, as far as the conversation I had with Lumberg, what I told him was based on what I had heard. And as far as getting on Lumberg's case for what he reported, cut the guy some slack. He was passing along what I had told him which was what had been told to me. So, anyone who claims to have never passed along information that they thought was valid only to find out later that it was incorrect... Yeah. <snicker snicker> Right. BWAAAHAAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAA

Good deal Mark! How're you doing?

Mine arrived yesterday, now my only problem is I have a bad ass cold and I'm not thinking about smoking for awhile. Will have to wait a while for the testing out portion of the cutter.

Glad they arrived safely and quickly Tony but I am really sorry to hear about the cold! Hopefully it will pass just in time for the holidays.

To test it, just pull out one of your yard gars and chop her up. ;)

Thanks again for the support and God speed on the recovery.

Mark I know the cutter will work as advertised and look foward to cutting my first. I just can't bring myself to cut any cigar without smoking it, LOL! Thanks for the good wishes. I know some folks out there will be happy when they get theirs

just got mine yesterday and was very pleased :D . The first cut was on a Partagas Petite Corona.

It was a bit challanging at first to get the cigar perfectly straight on the Palio because it a much thicker plastic than what I am used to. But once I was ready to make the cut---the blades sheared the cap right off. A perfect cut.

When I pulled it out of the little pouch it comes with, I noticed right away that this was no cheap plastic cutter. It is by far the most sturdy feel of any cutter I have used from $5-$50 cutters.

I am more than happy with this purchase. Thank you for the wonderful service as well.

Well I have had an opportunity to use my cutter and am impressed with the quality of it. The cut is first rate and the heft and feel of the cutter is great for that one handed cut. Mark, I know there are four others out ther that should be chimming in about their experiences.

Great product and great deal.

Thanks again.
