Thanks for the warmth welcome!
I am fairly new to the whole cigar thing... I know I know how did a newbie like me ended up with all those Padrons?
Long story... If I stick around I my rant some about it and tell the whole story =)
Enough about me I don't want to jack the post
Hey Wkoti, wanna trade your millennium for a 1926 #35 LOL

It's cool WKOTI, you're still the man in my mind. This Erika fellow is just a show-off! :p

I read this and got a very warm smile spreading across my face.

Then I scrolled down and saw this, needless to say, smile is deceased :(

Those look nice, but I still have yet to get a padron, I was recommended one of the anniversary ones by a friend. That will probably be the first padron I try.

I would try a Padron 3000 Maduro and work your way up. That way, you won't downplay your taste for the "regular" line which is inexpensive and quite good for an everyday smoke.

I hit a 3000 yesterday and didnt like it as much as the 2000. The 3000 was kind of bitter to me. May I got a bad one?

WKOTI - Since Im a noob and never tried any of those, my address is in my profile...Ill review them for you and get back to you with a professionally written detailed report. HA!!

Thanks for the suggestion, I like your logic. I will be heading out to the B&M later today to try one out.

Where did you find fake padron millenniums these days? ;) :D

Don't be mad just because your B&M doesn't have them. I mean, these are pretty common. Right? :whistling:

I'm far to fancy for that, I plan on lighting up that Milli soon, taking three draws, and tossing it. Hell that's what the Aficionados do right?

His name was George, and he was from AL. From what I understood these were legit, but he didn't have any teeth, so I guess I was just assuming that's what he was saying! :D

I've had this box for about 5 years. I bought them with a box of 6000s which I finished pretty quickly. Never got around to trying one of these though...

Welcome to CP!

sheesh . . . broke ass law students don't have the money for these fancy smokes! . . . and I don't think JAG is gonna pay well enough for me to splurge when I graduate either!

I'll have to keep dreaming for retirement . . . enjoy one of those padrons for the rest of us!

Don't sweat it. There are plenty of great smokes that cost a fraction of what the high end stuff goes for. I'm sure San Diego has several good shops that you could head to and find a good cigar for $5. Start with the Padron x000 series or the Oliva O or G. Lots of good stuff out there.

Clint is right about there being plenty of great smokes for reasonable prices.

Good luck in your studies.

Yeah, I really enjoy the padron X000 series cigars, some of the more affordable fuente's, etc. I just ordered a couple Padron 64's as a special treat to enjoy before starting 3L year . . . actually my g/f got them for me because she just got an offer from her firm

sidenote: are the 64 naturals good? I know the maduro was the cigar of the year

I actually prefer the naturals. Just straight forward quality tobacco taste.

Yeah, man. I'll echo the thoughts of others with a story from this past weekend. We had a great time up at the lake and I was able to smoke quite a few cigars. I brought a couple "extra special" sticks that I wanted to smoke and take the time to really give them my full attention. I also brought some "go-to" smokes that I really enjoy but don't cost a lot.

Which cigars did I happen to enjoy the most? Well, funny thing. I brought an Opus X along because I've only had one other in my life so this was the time to spark up another. I was pretty excited. The evening campfire was lit. Drink was in hand. I fought that darn thing to keep lit for nearly half an hour. It's been in my humidor under perfect conditions for over a year. What's going on here?! Well, needless to say, I got tired of trying and had to give up.

But I wasn't through for the evening. Went to the cigar caddy and pulled out a trusty Padron 2K maduro with a couple years of age on it. I can testify that it had a razor sharp burn, spot on taste, and capped off my evening perfectly. Best part is it was ridiculously inexpensive compared to an Opus X.

Moral of the story: The price of a cigar can be completely irrelevent, sometimes inverse to the enjoyment (or frustration) you'll receive from it.

My advice: get yourself some Padron X000's and you'll be in heaven. As funds allow, move up from there, J-Rod.

From my first smoke I've been a fan of the padron I've had several cigars with price tags several times that of the padron x000 line but when I open my humi i regularly skip the high end stuff an go straight for the padrons... like an old friend
