Padron factory and fields pictures

Great pictures! I'm sure it was a cool experience.

I saw a lot of them the other night Isy when George and Dan were showing everyone on George's laptop. Now sittin' back and taking a good look at them, they are truly incredable shots. Thanks for sharing brother and I'll talk with you soon...... :)

I guess it's only fitting. I went to Nicaragua alone last time... and now you don't even tell me you're going!!!
Chris

Isy, that is simply amazing, thanks for sharing. Being a history buff, I love to listen to older men share their stories of their lives and would love to be able to listen to Mr. Padron's stories. What a treat that must have been.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Isy.
How many cigars did you smoke on that trip??

I smoked about 8-10 cigars a day. On the Pepin portion of the trip, I was smoking My Fathers, 601s, Murcielagos, and a few Nestor Miranda Special Selections. We also smoked several of one kind that hasn't been released yet, and don't yet know what they will be. On the Padron portion, I smoked about the same amt.....40ths, 80ths, and various 1926s.

I thought I told you when we spoke a few weeks ago. Anyway, I met some people that you know, as well. And it's not related to tobacco... :whistling:

Call me, Chris.

I loved the pictures! Thank you for sharing. What an exceptionally well-put together album.

Glad you guys enjoy them. The best part of the Padron factory trip for me was being able to sit and talk to Don Orlando for hours on end, for 3 days. He's 84 years old and has been involved in tobacco farming since he was 7, when he would pick the weeds in between the plants on his father's farm. Aside from the TONS of knowledge he shared with me, the stories (from Cuba, Miami, and Nicaragua) he shared were simply incredible. I feel very fortunate and grateful to have been able to talk openly with a tobacco legend such as Don Orlando. In my opinion, I think the only other person of his caliber would be Alejandro Robaina. We talked about him as well, and unfortunately, he's gravely ill right now. Don't get me wrong, though. Talking with Don Pepin as much as I did was incredible, too. But I spent more time with Jorge and Don Orlando in the 3 days with them than I did with Don Pepin in the 4 days I was on the Pepin trip. Fact of the matter is that Don Pepin is a freakin work horse and is ALWAYS working.
This goes without saying but you are SO lucky! If I had the chance talk to Don Orlando for even a few minutes Id be the happiest girl in the world. Its so great that you got to interact with him as much as you did throughout the trip.

A trip of a lifetime for us cigar enthusiasts. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Wow. I just can't imagine how happy I would be if I could have a chance to smoke that many cigars in such places with such people around.

I'm waxing my carrot looking at these pictures!

All I want to know is..."when do we leave?"

Please have the pictures when we see you in a few weeks...OK?

You Lucky Dog!

If you want, I'll give a nice presentation with the pictures through a slide show on the TV. I did that for Superbowl, the day after my return, and everyone loved it. Also, there are a LOT more pictures than what I posted.

Yeah Man! Thanks Isy....that would be great.

Amazing pictures of a trip that many of us would die for.

Thanks for sharing Isy.

Very cool pictures Isy, thanks for spending the time and uploading all those pics for us, I can imagine it smells so fresh to be in those fields.

In the picture of the rollers working, do they have someone read books to them as they work to help keep the mind fresh? I read an article that spoke of it but wasn't sure if that tradition is still followed in today's busy world.

Wow those were some awesome pictures...are you going to post anymore? Serious thank yous for showing us what most of us will never see.

My pleasure...and yes, I will post more. I've got shots of Drew Estate's factory that will be up a bit later today.
