New Cigar Box Clocks Up For Grabs

I have a little problem here. The Volusinator is selling clocks...I think for a profit in the Buy, Sell, Trade area. This area is not for making a profit. It is for helping people aquire things at cost...Not for making a little extra cash.

If he is going to be a retailer he needs to post in the proper section. If he is not making a profit he needs to show the actual cost for making the clocks.

Would you like a bill of materials with a costing? Did you try contacting Wade via pm before calling him out in public? I would hope you gave him that courtesy considering you "think for a profit". Getting the facts straight is usually the way to go before posting publicly imo.

Wade should have posted his cost at the opening thread...That is the way it is done. Go back and read other sales in this area. If he wants to avoid being called out he should be open about his costs.

Is that not what people that are in business do? The charge a premium for their time. I'm not saying it is not a good deal. I am saying he is not posting his wares in the right place if in fact he is making a few extra dollars. Posts like that belong in the retailer section.

A local guy makes these things too. He charges about the same as Wade. He makes a profit.

Wade is pulling boxes out of the community to make these clocks - then he's selling them back to the community - for a profit...



Is it possibly because you don't mind paying for labor so therefore it's okay? So let's follow that logic for a sec... Would you be willing to pay for my time when I box up some special cigars you're really interested in as a sort of "handling fee"? Or maybe I should keep the $150 ashtray when I go through all the trouble of doing a group buy from some coveted cigars... That pig's not flown before, and I don't think it's going to be flying now...

I see where you're coming from and I have read about the guy doing the group buy only to get the ashtray and agree that was crap.

I'm in no way defending Vol, but instead, just asking whether we are being consistent here. If it's in your opinion that we are, then fine. However, it is possible that others might disagree, which is healthy in a community like CP. Questions are good.

The harrassment here the last couple days has been downright childish. If you want the thread moved to the Vendor area, so be it, it really doesnt matter to me. If you want to buy/trade for a clock, that's fine, if not, that's fine too. They'll go for more one E-bay anyway. ggiese, the names Wade or Vol or Volusianator, not tick-tock, I'd appreciate if you'd address me properly.

If anyone has an issue with what I'm asking for for the clocks, they can certainly contact me and we'll work something out, I'm a fair guy. If what I'm asking is just way to much for you, then don't inquire about getting one, I've no problem with that. NEVER have I claimed that what I'm asking for the clocks is exactly what I have into them. NEVER once have I asked a member of CP to send me boxes for nothing, I always expect and offer to make payment in cash or trade, whatever the true BOTL wants. Sometimes they wont take anything and that's fine, true BOTL's do that kind of thing from time to time. I've recently had a fine BOTL here on CP send me over 40 boxes in one shot, I had no idea they were coming, none, he never asked for anything in return, so I guess that's my bad.

If Rod wants to move the clock thread to the vendor area, that's fine with me, I mean it really doesn't matter to me at all. It's his/our site, whatever he/we feel is best is certainly fine with me.
