Texas Grand Jury Indicts Netflix For Child Porn Depicted In ‘Cuties’ Film

Interesting. I haven't watched it (and won't), but from everything I've read on IMDb, Wiki, and various comments from even-keeled friends on Facebook (I have a few who can't see the forest, as it were...), this film would actually carry and convey a smart message about pre-teens today, if it weren't for the unnecessary and seemingly-gratuitous framing and focus of a few wildly inappropriate scenes. That's not to defend the film at all -- again, haven't seen it, and there doesn't seem to be a defense for some of the scenes described via IMDb.

Now, of course, I don't think that anyone actually believes the CEO of Netflix personally picked, viewed, and created the marketing for Cuties outside of France, specifically. That said, someone had to have decided that it was a good idea. There's no getting around that fact, which is what makes it so disturbing. I support the indictment of Netflix, just to find out why that happened, and make sure that it doesn't happen again.

Agreed, while I was tempted to watch, just to see if was as bad as they say it is, I certainly didnt want to have “child porn” on my TV or mobile device, and also didn’t want to give more ratings to the show. I did however read a bunch of stuff in the news, and also re-read the indictment. You are absolutely correct, this ”could have” been a morally inspired story desperately needed among teens today, especially with the mixed messages from the morally bankrupt Hollywood tv shows and movies. Unfortunately it wasn’t even close.... The close up dance scenes (of pre-teens) along with the horrible music, in my opinion, it was created just to make some money...

I saw the news about "Cuties" - purely disgusting pedophile shit. Who in their right mind would even find this entertaining? It all leads back to Epstein IMO, it's apparently a much bigger underworld than most of us ever knew.

Check out Better Call Saul -- it's a spin off of Breaking Bad.

Kim's Convenience is good too.

Looking forward to the next season of Stranger Things once it comes to Netflix.

I second Kim’s convenience. It was surprisingly good. Almost like an office/parks n rec type setting (I said almost!)

Kim's Convenience is great! I even got my parent's to watch it, and for them to like a show that I like is really saying something.

Narcos
Narcos Mexico
Ozark
Lost in Space
The Crown ( Not a royalist, but I enjoy this show. Its "Master Piece Theater like.)
Evil Genius
The Staircase
The Last Czars
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

One of the reasons I do not believe Epstein killed himself.

ok @Thoughts, Norsemen is super weird.... Like a chick with 3 nipples, you want to look away but you just can't
Those first 2-3 episodes can be a little extreme, but everything after that reminds me of the office/ parks and rec except the Viking version

Edit: glad you are checking it out tho! It only gets more uncomfortable!

Didn't read the whole thread, but if you have Netflix and haven't watched "The Irishman".....you should. Solid movie.....at the least.

No mention of Cobra Kai?
Oh, HELL YES! I don't think this show could have been done any better. YouTube knocked it out of the park, and I'm glad Netflix picked it up for a 3rd and 4th season.

Just saw yesterday that Netflix axed production on the final season of GLOW. I remember watching the real GLOW as a kid, and the storyline mirrors reality pretty well. The acting was excellent, and the reviews and ratings were great. Another victim of COVID. Maybe further down the line we'll get the last season. The ensemble cast had such wonderful chemistry.
“But I have a dick in my mouth!” “Yes, and you’ll ‘blow’ the competition away” 😂

I really enjoyed Cobra Kai. Lately I haven’t found much new content to keep my entertained though. Most of the time I’m listening while doing other stuff and a lot of content doesn’t work great that way.

Bill, what do you like about Hulu because I have it and am ready to get rid of it.
I used to like it, until they raised the cost. Now I am considering cancelling. I do like the dvr function, it works great, and I can watch my shows anytime I want.

Everybody's going to have their own taste. Shows I've really enjoyed there:

Sense8
Stranger Things
The Crown
Babylon Berlin
The Punisher
Jessica Jones
Travellers
Altered Carbon
The Umbrella Academy
I Am Not Okay With This
Barbarians
Mindhunters
Warrior Nun

Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045 & The Old Guard are two fairly recent Netflix movies that were good.

Lately I've been put a bit off by the endless crapflood of zombies, vampires, witches, etc in popular shows & discovered Korean action shows on Netflix as an alternative---if you don't mind subtitles, these are all pretty good:

The Uncanny Counter
Sisyphus
Bad Guys
Vincenzo

~Boar
