Need a little transaction advice please

I gotta disagree. If I'm selling cigars, and I don't know the person who is buying from me, they gotta send their end first. I don't care how long they've been here.
I gotta agree.

I've dealt with members who've had join dates going back as far as 2003. They've registered for a long time but don't participate much and so they recognized that the right thing to do was to send their end first...without even asking if I'd want that. Now those are guys who understand and "get it."

As an aside, a might not know or have interacted with a guy, but if he has a presence on the forum, then that figures a bit. Then it can become a point of negotiation. I have to say that I have never had a problem sending my end first when asked or asking for it and getting it when I felt it was appropriate. If you get pressure or an uneasy sense, that's probably a clue that you ought not to proceed with the transaction.

i actually did pm wed advising that the check was on the way. i followed up again this morning. a few of the facts that were misplaced. i also im merkinmullet on wednesday which he inaccurately said was yesterday at 3:00. and nice job guys on all of the physical threats. i wonder if the fbi would look at a check being mailed out 8 or 9 days late or having someone threaten you physically?

i actually think some of you, not all of you enjoy it when this happens. gives you a chance to go off on someone just like when a newbie posts a for sale or a newbie asks about a ISOM source in public.

Did this happen?

Yes if you read original post I stated while writing this he PM'd me. Not stating he sent the check but asking if I received it. When I replied and said No when did you send it and where he never answered back .... I proceeded and posted this later that night.

Later this morning while all of this was going on he sent me a PM stating he sent it to California. Thats all he said.

There was total disregard to any of my questions which were not answered properly. I would have never put this up if I would have received a PM and explaination. this was my last resort.

More than anything, Mr. Ehrlich, it seems that you are now trying to instigate the kind of behavior you describe some members of the board as enjoying. I don't know if you are the kind of person who actually enjoys trolling and creating drama, or if you are using this as some kind of an excuse for not responding in the forum where you were called out.

What I find deplorable about your reply, above, is that you seem to have no humility, but hubris enough to become indignant that people suggested in-person collection of the debt owed, and inferred from those suggestions that there were physical threats from those suggestions. Brian even clarified in a later post that harming you was not on the menu.

In fact, it is equally deplorable that you did not reply until after in-person collection was suggested. You had several days during which you could have rectified the situation, and to post the tripe above is merely an effort to "go out with a bang."

I suggest you either apologize for the misunderstanding with something that has a veneer of sincerity, or leave Cigarpass and don't come back.

So the deal was agreed to on August 25 and a check was received on August 12. That doesn't seem to me to be too out of hand. I think he said "the check's on the way" when it wasn't, not good. His lack of response to this thread when he knew the check was on the way, also not good. Certainly not "Ban" offenses.
However, for his complete lack of "shift key discipline"... put his feet on the road.

Also, the personal stuff about him posted on this thread should be removed. Try to show some restraint fellers.

Yes I agree ... like I stated in the beginning ... this was not meant for a bash session. I want to see if anyone knew him personally, or had direct contact with him that could shed a little light about his situation.

"Todd" (Master Rod) maybe any personal info on Rod E should be removed.

Our transaction has been settled.

I've removed all personal info (even though it's public information). If I missed anything, let me know.

Nice to see this has finally been resolved. Lack of communication is never good...

Not to pile on, but to maybe clearify that this is not the first time this has happened with this guy. MAS_Puros was sent a PM from me explaining my situation in more detail. Basically it was the same thing, I was offering up a low-end half blind churchill fiver, Rehrlich answered by PM. I shipped my end and awaited his. After a few days with no DC# I began attempting to email and PM him. Same situation, he was on the board, even posting in other threads and PM confirmed by message tracker. When he did respond he feigned suprise of his end not arriving, yet failed to provide DC# as conformation. After that again no communication for a couple of days. After soliciting advice I gave him a timeline and told him he would be publicly outed if no resolution came forth. I got busy and dead-line passed but he had communicated and posted DC# which, at the time showed up as invalid. Eventually the fiver arrived, a little worse for the wear, but I was just glad to have it over and done with.

So partly I feel a little responsible for this. Looking at his list of B/S/T I figured my experience was a flux and decided not to make it a CP issue. I guess in hind sight perhaps I should have, even though MAS got his check in the end.

Again, I'm not trying to pile on, but I just wanted to let everyone know that this was a pattern of behavior not a one time deal.

Sorry for just posting a picture Rod...but after reading this whole thread for 15 minutes, it was the first thing that came to mind.

CP brothers & sisters watch out for one another and this post ran the gamut of the good, the bad and the ugly. This thread should be made a sticky in the Buy/Sell Forum for people that may be thinking of pulling some funny business around here. It's just another example of the lengths this Community will go to to get justice.

#1...chill out, you need to take a vacation

I think the bottom line is if anyone decides to trade with Rehrlich, they better request he send his side first. Not sure if he's worthy of a ban, as it seems that all transactions and obligations have ultimately been met in the end.

No. This is not about pride. Pride keeps us from committing wrongs. It's the complete lack of character that allows someone to commit then deny an injustice.

I dunno Tim, that bastards complete disregard for the shift key is criminal.
