Motorcycles

Got a couple bikes, often hard to choose what I want to ride. Honestly I struggle to find time to ride any of them since I also collect vintage cars and I'm often driving those.

'08 Ducati Monster (with my older son riding it in the pic)
'76 BMW R90/6

I had a guy bring me a wheel. "It has a slow leak". It turned out to be a bad valve stem. He wanted me to fix the valve stem and said that he would get a new tire, later. Nope.

This is the inside of the tire - after running low too many times. Coming apart....

Right after that, one showed up with a small issue.
Luckily, I had a small solution.

I removed the right-rear footpeg assembly on a big Yamaha cruiser, in order to install floor boards - but not without a bit of drama.

A 6mm allen wrench twisted this one., and no amount of heat, Liquid Wrench, easy outs, or cussing would budge it.

A well place drill bit and a cleanup tap finally did the trick.

Always one broken bolt away from a 5min job turning into a 5hr job.

Rescued a guy with a flat tire today. Found a used tire and changed it in the driveway, in order to get him on his way.
Do people not look at their tires ?

I meant to comment on this before: If that is from actual mileage, I'd have bought him the new tire myself and said, "Well Done!". If that is (more likely) from beer-drinkin' burnouts... I'd have wished him luck and sent him on his way.

It was Sunday, and the cycle shops were closed.

And yes, that was from mileage. It was sporting a Shinko 777 tire. Well known for being "sticky", and short lived. I regularly change those for a cheap-ass friend of mine, and he never brings the bike until at least two layers of cord is showing.
