Missing Messages

Went looking for old PMs and see they are mostly gone. Is there any way to get them back or are they gone forever?

Not that it’s any help but I’ve still got PM’s going back to 2011.

I just checked and the oldest one showing up for me is from October 2009. I've been here since 2004, so I figure I'm missing some older than 2009.

My oldest one is July 22nd 2009.

I wonder if it could have something to do with what web browser we use?

I have nothing from before coming back around last fall so anything from the 2007-2012 timeframe, when I was active prior, is gone.

2013 is as far back as mine go. Between software upgrades and server crashes, 'stuff' happens. Good news is Rod's got us on what I think is the very best forum software going, now. Best chance there is of not having things go sideways in the future. Well, other than the users....

Yep, July 2009 is as far back as mine go.

If PM's are going back to only 2009 or so, then it was related to an upgrade of the software. I have never purged PM's, nor do I intend to. The forum software we used back then was not so great, however it was the best that was available at the time. The platform we're on today, blows them all away.
