I saw a great special last night on the life of the great Louis Armstrong or "Satchmo", I had always wondered where this nickname came from.

Time for a iPass Jazz contest, the winner will receive a nice little sumptin, sumptin from yours truly. This contest is only open to Pass/Vine participants, has three parts, and is open until the right answer is posted in this thread. I alone will decide who is the winner and who's answers match exactly what I am looking for.

1. What is Louis Armstrongs nickname "Satchmo" short for and what did it refer to? Satchel Mouth - The embouchure is the use of facial muscles and the shaping of the lips to the mouthpiece of a wind instrument.
2. In what year, where and who first greeted Louis Armstrong with this nickname? The nickname Satchmo or Satch is short for Satchelmouth (describing his embouchure). In 1932, then Melody Maker magazine editor Percy Brooks greeted Armstrong in London with "Hello, Satchmo!" shortening Satchelmouth (some say unintentionally), and it stuck.
3. Louis Armstrong liked the shortened version of his nickname so much he used it where? On an album title

After hours of trying to burn CDs I was only successful in burning all of Disk 1 Mwandishi and some of Disk 2.
I am completely frustrated at this point...
If anyone is in dire need of the Parker or Gillespie stuff LMK and I will work on getting it to David.
Otherwise I QUIT!
Thank God there is a herf tomorrow!

Can someone tell me how to convert my songs to mp3 format before I burn them to disc? I've loaded them all up to itunes but cannot figure out how to convert them from audio files to mp3's.

Oh ...... edit your preferences and selevt mp3 instead of ACC format. Then when you do the right click, you should see convert to mp3.

Oh ...... edit your preferences and selevt mp3 instead of ACC format. Then when you do the right click, you should see convert to mp3.
