OMG! We went to Buckheads Mountain Grill Friday and I had two dinner rolls with that Honey Butter and it was just like shooting up! Damn, they tasted good and actually altered my mood.

I litteraly felt the fat grams wash through my system like dope. I never took any dope but it had to be a similar experience.

I love food, I eat food almost every hour of the day. However, I have failed to gain anything. If you could, please let me know how to gain weight. I am sure people here know the key to success. My future wife and Mother always tell me I am too skinny, and that I need to gain some weight. I told them I have been trying for the past 5 years, and have only been able to reach 180 at one point where I was working out and trying to get in shape for football season. I am now back down to 148, now that I have retired from the football field :( .

I'll give you some of mine David. My secret is two pizzas in a recliner with a nap chaser. Upon awakening, sit up and exorcise arm by lifting, clipping and lighting a good stick while watching the game. Repeat twice a day for two months. I promise you this works. It did for me. LOL

If I didn't gain weight so easy, I would be eating all the time. The problem is that just the smell of pasta puts 2 pounds on me. One slice is too many and a thousand pizzas is never enough.

I am 6'4". I have been as high as 298 and as low as 188. I usually am in the 220-235 range, but this last bout with eating, I got up to 263. I just lost 30 pounds in the last couple of months but it's tough to keep it off.

Problem - I LOVE to eat at night and eating sweets is as dangerous as drugs and alcohol to me.
Solution - If I don't eat late night I do ok. If I don't eat sweets for a while I don't crave more.

4-6 Cokes a day, lots of trips to the buffet, and too many big bowls of ice cream will easily do you in. Oh, did I mention lots of pizza and fast food?

Who needs cereal when you can have doughnuts? Who needs water when you can have coke? and who needs to eat at home when you can have 3 or even 4 burgers off a dollar menu?

Trust me sweetrice, it's really not that hard....and there really isn't a science to it... :whistling:

One of my biggest vices, GREAT FOOD!

I love red meat. Need to eat it every other day.

If I had enough money to splurge on stuff, it'd be Travel and FOOD and cars. I would travel around the world and eat all kinds of local food.

When I travel, I plan around food. Best places to eat and experience the culture.

I actually prefer to eat at a restaurant, whether it's a hole-in-the-wall establishment or fine dining, than looking at old buildings and museums and stuff like that.

I plan what I would eat for dinner after lunch...and what to eat the next day after dinner.

Went to Ray's the Steak in Arlington a few weeks back and had a 28oz Bone-In Ribeye. Had a smile ear to ear the whole week.

You're marrying your mother? J/k of course. I'm 38 and the last 3-4 years have really seen a change for me. I can't get away with doing what I did when I was 25 so I've had to adjust my diet and habits accordingly. The lbs. don't come off as fast I put them on anymore.

*cough* *cough*

:p jerk...

anyhow they always used to say eat a normal meal and on top of that eat a peanut butter & jelly sandwitch.

So are you laying the groundwork for your "Why I failed miserably at losing 100 pounds" thread? :sign:

I hope not. I am actually approaching this just like when I quit drinking , soon to be 23 years ago. When you have issues, with something it is very helpful to write or talk about them.

A normal trip to Buckheads is six rolls minimum and extra honey butter, accompanied by an appetizer and then a big meal. This trip was two rolls and a veggie plate so I guess it was a brag post.

Haha, Thanks for the good tips everyone. But let me tell you, I am told by some good friends and my FIANCEE, have told me a great deal that I do not eat very well and they are shocked on how I can not keep the weight. Lets put it this way.

Yesterday for an example, two donuts Strawberry filling, Large Ice coffee, I drink Dr. Pepper as my water (4 Yesterday), Double chessey beef tacos is my go to snack. Double quarter cheese Burger meal (large) two apple pies, Peanut butter Bagel, Chucky Monkey Ice cream from Ben and Jerry (Oh man got the cravings now). Pop corn, and an orange soda while watching some season one DVD's of the show Chuck.

During football and Baseball season (I coach), I rarely have time to make make anything, most of the time I go out. But as of right now my heathest meal is the subway (footlong chicken bacon sandwich with everything and a side or Ranch.)

I started working out lately, and I have seen little gains in weight. I was 145 about a week ago, and now 148!

But that the life of being a skinny kid that everyone can beat up (at least on CP) because most out gain me by 100lbs. But I would put up a fight before going quietly into the night, with my tail between my legs. :whistling:

I was just thinking the same thing Rod. I went and looked at his profile. You're 23 years old.

If you're lucky, it might be the same way when you hit thirty and beyond. And I do mean lucky.

I weighed about 155 when I graduated high school on a 6 "4" frame. Then I was about 185 during my tour in the USMC. It was all muscle gain. I could eat anything and as much as I wanted until about thirty years old. I was like "cool" when the scale read 200 pounds. Then it slowly crept up on me. :( I'm forty one now, and weigh 249. I have to watch what I eat to keep it there to boot. I was 242 before letting loose during the Holidays.

salt and viniger chips I open a bag with the intenions of eating a normal portian and finish the whole bag in one sitting.

David,

Keep in mind that food is FUEL. If you are working out especially with weights you need to eat well.. not the junk you mentioned above. You need protein, carbs ( good ones) etc to put some muscle mass on you.

If you start eating better while you are working out you will gain weight much easier.

I wasn't fat when I was 23 either. I thought I was fat at 220 lbs.

Like the others said - "Wait till you hit 35-40!" :p

BTW - When I was in my early & mid 20's and played Rugby & Football @ 6'4" 230# I ate 4000 plus calories per day just to maintain my weight, along with greuling practices and workouts. Best advice given to me to maintain good weight was "First to build a machine you must fuel the machine, then run the machine." :)

Do Not train yourself to eat like crazy now, It makes it harder to break the habit later. No doubt about it.
