Hey! If he doesn't care to wash his beads between uses, he doesn't have to!
YOU GO BILL!
Don't wash 'em!

See the problem is that he's wanting that "tobacco" smell. If he doesn't wash his beads regularly, he'll have a bigger problem then just the plastic smell.

LMAO!!!!!

Given his moniker, he may prefer yeasty smelling cigars.

The beads don't smell at all. Maybe your beads smell, but not mine.

That's strange. I've never personally smelled the beads I use, but the wifey is the one that washes them after they've been used. Who knows? Maybe different plastic is being used now?

You have me thinking now. Maybe I should compare them to the other 6 strings I have? What if it is different plastic? Should I stop using them and just get another set?

I'm so confused :)

Do you have a job?, because if you did you would know that time is money and you have wasted countless time of yours and everyone else's because you have refused to take the advice others gave you to remedy your problem before you even started this thread.

I recommend you run down to your local drug store and strap on a Nicotrol Patch and try an find a new hobby, obviously this one is too technical for you.

What!? I wasted everyone's time? Noooooo. I don't think so.
I NEVER refused to take the advice that was given to me by the others in here.
You don't know what you are talking about. I definitely DID take all the advice that was given to me in here. And I used some of the advice that was given to me to fix my humidor. So, please don't make assumptions about what I did and what I didn't do when you yourself don't even know what I did to remedy the problems with my humidor. Please keep this in mind before you start assuming things.

Another site does a good job covering flavoring beads Bill Clinton, please check it out.

Not only will it make the "plastic smell" go away, but it'll make your cigars taste better too. Good luck!

I'm not interested. You're the one who is interested in flavoring your beads. Not me. I prefer my beads flavorless.

HOLY **** this post is still going!!?!?!?!?!?!??! Please, for the love of all that is holy, stop!

Bill, I'm glad you wash your beads.

My question is after you wash your beads are they still subject to atmospheric variances? Will they continue to smell like plastic? Should I buy another humidor or just a new house? And finally will my cigars smell lemony fresh?

Thank you in advance to all that may enlighten me on this much discussed topic, may this thread never end!

Atmospheric variances are directly in proportion to the elevation at which the beads are washed. A new house is not required if enough weather stripping is used to seal doors, windows, etc.
