What about the Habs knocking out the Caps!?!?!

I guess that Carey Price is busy filling out job application forms.

As for my team, they just need to get Luongo playing like he can. The Vancouver/Chicago series could be a really exciting, fast-paced series. But Luongo needs to step up. Come to think of it, he needs to play like Halak!

What about the Habs knocking out the Caps!?!?! Now instead of Ovie going off on us, we get to play Doc's Bruins. Not bad when a 6th seeded team has home ice, huh Doc? With Carter, Gagne, and Laperriere out, don't think this one will make it to see a sixth game though. I'm not sure if Boucher has enough magic left to go through another round.

You just can't call that a loss, but more of a collapse. Just painful to watch them blow a series lead like that!!!!! :(

Don't start that sandbagging sh*t now Brian! We've all seen goalies remain hot throughout the playoffs...and your boy Boucher is as hot as they get.

This is the NHL baby....it's any team's Cup title to grab!...who knows, maybe even the Fliers turn this year!

What's the bet between you and Doc going to be? :whistling:

True, and they blew it for sure. Just watched Ovie's post game interview, and what a poor sport. At least the Coyotes, who have had a fantastic season, were humble and good sports about being knocked out of the first round. Ovechkin postgame video on NHL.com

Bless me Milt, for I have sinned. I rooted for the Habs last night.

Doc.

Here is a joke for you guys.... feel free to spread the love and insert teams of your choice  (I stole this from my brother)

Three hockey fans were driving along when they spied a body in the underbrush. Stopping their car, the three guys ran over to see what they could do. Unfortunately, they found the nude body of a deceased young woman.

Being gentlemen, the first guy dropped his Buffalo Sabres hat over one breast. The second guy, a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, placed his hat over the other breast. The Boston Bruins fan then placed his hat over the woman's very private part.

Soon the police arrived. The coroner started checking over the body. He picked up the Sabres hat and quickly placed it back. He then picked up the Leafs hat and returned it. Then he picked up the Bruins fan's hat, put it down, then picked it up again inspecting the hat more closely, and then put it down. Then he picked it up a third time.

By this time, the Bruins fan was a bit irritated and he asked, "Why do you keep picking up that hat? Are you some kind of pervert or something?" The coroner responded with a wry smile, "Boy, I can't figure it out. Usually when I come across one of these Bruins hats, there's an asshole under it."

C'mon Doc.....I know you're wantin' to say something.

The Bruins could very well be down 0-2 if the puck had of bounced differently a couple of times. Aaaand...Carcillo is an embarrassment to Flyers' teams of the past. What an ass.

Doc.

Can't disagree with you on that one Doc. His hit on Begin was good, but when Begin retaliated and Carcillo went down, he should have gotten a call for diving. He went down clutching his face and the replay showed that Begin never came close to him. Maybe a cross check to the neck, but nothing like Carcillo made it out to be. He came into the league wanting to break the Hammer's PIM record and he did well his rookie year, but he takes waaaaay too many stupid penalties.

I put him in the same class as Sean Avery.

I love that he puts his fingers in Savard's mouth and then complains Savard bit him. I learned long ago you don't put something in someone's mouth without asking first or they might just bite it.

Fleury showed last night why he is the best big game goalie left in the playoff's. He made 3 unbelievable saves in the shutout of the Habs. Hopefully, we can take the next two games then rest up for the conference finals.

LETS GO PENS!!!!!

Grapes called him a coward on last night's Coach's Corner. My link There's some good footage of Carcillo's antics.

Doc

Yeah I love the clip of him getting 'high sticked' by a stick that wasn't even close to him. He reminds me more of Steve Downey than Avery though. If he turns out like Downey (so far) Carcillo could be a solid part of the team as opposed to a side show.

Steve Downie only had such a good year because he was on a line with St. Louis and Stamkos. If Carcillo stays on a line with Richards and Gagne, he may be alright...as long as he doesn't take the stupid penalties. I put him in with Avery because if you're talking about world class pests, Carcillo is the only one close to reaching Avery.

Downie is one of those that thought he had to fit in the Broad Street Bullies mold. Dave Schultz is Carcillo's hero. To me, in this day and age of the NHL, you only need one enforcer (if that's what you want to call them now). Look at Ian Laperriere. I hated his signing in Philly originally, but he led the team in fights, blocked shots without regard for his body, was the first line penalty killer with Blair Betts....and he's a "clean" player. To me, if you carry an enforcer type player, someone like Laperriere that is actually valuable to the team, he is the prototypical model.

With all that being said, we're now down 3-0 to the B's.

Laperriere was a great pickup, I felt he has never really been given credit for what he can add and man, blocking a shot with your face...insane.

Edit: I'll give you the 24 assists for Downie being due to the line he's on but c'mon, 22 goals? That's all skills. :whistling:

Lappy spent years on the Kings and he's a first class guy. He was a crowd favorite here in L.A. I remember him spending over an hour talking to fans, taking pictures, and holding babies. I wish he never chose to leave the Kings.

Yea, ok. I give him 12 goals if he's not on that line. You take away the attention St.Louis and Stamkos get and he doesn't score anything. It's easy picking up the garbage goals when all the attention is focused on one side of the ice.

( maybe I'm just upset the Flyers traded him for Vinnie "the rental" Prospal)

Same sitrep here Brian... Tonight is do or die in 30 minutes. The mustache either lives to fight another day, or dies a shameful death.
