Hockey

With all that being said, we're now down 3-0 to the B's.

Same sitrep here Brian... Tonight is do or die in 30 minutes. The mustache either lives to fight another day, or dies a shameful death.

Well hell, the '42 Leafs did it. So did the '75 Islanders.

Doc.

The last period and a half of the Penguins/Habs game tonight was great hockey to watch....and I hate to admit I was rooting for the Canadians.

WTF is going on with your Fliers #2?...they're making the Bruins look like World beaters!

PS: cut your comparisons to Avery...you'd take him in a heart beat. Face it, everyone loves a prick when he's on your team!

Yes Jonesy I'd be upset by that move as well.
As for Avery he seems to strike me as a "me first" type guy who has been a problem in the locker room and it seems to get worse when he starts producing points on the ice, not just penalties and he gets full of himself whereas Downie seems to do his dumb shit to help the team and earn some playing time more than promote himself and he really seems to have fit in down there now that he's not fighting for a job and is able to contribute elsewhere. Though I bet we see a 20 game suspension for him somewhere down the line.

Hey, the Babcock says it's our turn to take a crack at the 3-0 deficit, and we're one step closer as of last night with spanking the piss out of the Sharks! Now, I will say, these fuggin' Red Wings are moodier than 4 13-year old girls on the same cycle in a chocolate factory. This whole series has been riddled with one great game, then when ya think they have it figured out, they go back out and get schooled. We'll see what happens for the next game in SJ. I'm hopeful, but I'm not holding my breath.

Where are your Rangers Gary?

Before you do anything rash concerning the 'stach, (hey, that rhymes) you might want to check with the Construction Worker and the Indian and get their opinions first.

Edit to point out my rhyming superiority.

Stop drunk posting you degenerate! The mustache of awesomeness died Clint, sorry buddy. :(

ETA: If I was going to the Outlaw, I probably would have kept it just for the cool factor!

Rumours up here of Kovalchuk heading to LA now that they don't have to give up anything to get him.

Today is the 40th anniversary of "The Goal". A statue of the greatest hockey player eva will be unveiled tonight at the Garden. It's a depiction of him flying through the air after scoring the winning goal, against the St.L Blues, in overtime for the Cup.

Doc.

Don't none of you young fellas give me any Gretzky crap. He was the greatest scorer. Orr was the greatest two way hockey player that ever lived. There's stars, superstars, and then there's Bobby Orr."
-Serge Savard, HOF defenseman

It's mind blowing to think about what Orr might have accomplished had he not been injured. Any one who doesn't know his stats should look him up on hockeydb.com.

I don't remember where I heard this but, here it is: Gretzky's defensive deficiencies are obvious. Bobby Hull couldn't do everything. Gordie Howe could do everything but not at full speed. Bobby Orr could do everything at full speed.

Doc.

Fleury showed last night why he is the best big game goalie left in the playoff's. He made 3 unbelievable saves in the shutout of the Habs. Hopefully, we can take the next two games then rest up for the conference finals.

LETS GO PENS!!!!!

Too bad the "best big game goalie" didn't show up the last few nights! Better luck next year!

Yea, I'm a Flyers fan! :sign:

Rough night last night for Pen's fans. If you watched the game, the call against Crosby 10 seconds into a game 7 was complete BS. Unfortunately, that set the tone for the evening. Fleury and Gonchar played horrible games. All that being said, give credit to the Canadians. They did what they had to in order to win. Their goalie played great, and their team capitalized on their offensive chances. We did not.

Oh well - Next year - New year - New arena.

Now who to root for to win the cup?

As a Pens fan, you have to root for the Flyers, right?
