i am thinking of purchasing a small tube for my 15 count humi. My question is do you just put the tube in the humi or do you empty the contents in an open container? Thanks for any help.

Just a couple spritz's and your back in business. I think the beads, FOG's correct me if Im wrong, should be kept around 50/50 milky/clear.
Clear = hydrated
milky = dehydrated
That way you have some capacity to soak up extra moisture if you get some soggy sticks. If you over hydrate them either leave them out for a while or hit them with a hair dryer. Hair dryer being an emergency quick fix as I think dehydrating them fast over stresses the beads.
