Happy Thread

Charleigh took a job at a local Publix grocery store in Richmond, VA to earn some extra money between classes at VCU. Her mom freaked out when she found out Charleigh was walking 30 minutes through some not so nice areas of town at night, or sitting outside the store after hours alone, waiting for an Uber. That promptly set the wheels in motion to find Charleigh a nice, reliable, used vehicle. We surprised her with it last night. We were waiting outside for her when she got off work. 😍

That's awesome. Her surprised smile makes me happy, too!

I've heard stories of the glory of Publix, but have never been to one, sadly.

That is so awesome John! I'm happy to see you and Donella being the awesome people that you are.

That’s nothing. You should see a Wegman’s. They have just about everything you can imagine from an open air fish and butcher shop, to a Sushi restaurant, and rare wines on display.
Agree Publix is ok, but I do miss Wegman's! We are pretty lucky here in SC, we have a ton of options for food shopping. Great choice on a vehicle I'm sure she will enjoy it and be safe in it!

Great looking car John, congrats to you and wife to see and act on the need on several fronts. I did laugh when I noticed it was a V6, power when you need it. And she look so Happy!

Happy comes at interesting points in your life. This photo only took 79 years to form, but it tells a story. My wife Sandy, Kaleb (12), myself, Madelynne (13) after dinner at our sons house on 9/11/22. Do we look sufficiently proud and happy. OH!, funny to say this, these are the "youngest" on our grandchildren, not including the great-grandchildren.

Simply beautiful Ed!

Are those giant Ferrero Rocher?

It's funny, after my dad died and I was going through his stuff, I found quite a few of the empty plastic containers those Ferrero Rocher chocolates came in. But I never remember seeing him eat one and never saw any out - his secret stash of candy I guess! He was using them to store some of his collection of .25s, nice little hard shell containers.

As I mentioned a few days ago, I played golf for the first time in a while last Friday. I was playing with a young friend of mine who spends the cooler months in Florida playing on the Florida PGA. He literally hits the ball 90+ yards past me off the tee.

While he is good dude and good friend, it seems all my friends are giant ball busters ..... I just don't get it. We played a couple holes and ran into some traffic so we jumped to the back nine, on #10, a gentle uphill par five, I hit a decent drive and he hit it past me 100 yards. As we got to my ball he dropped the old "did you hear they are building a new Walmart in Carrollton?" ..... "between my ball and yours?" I hit a good 5 wood to get me to the yardage I wanted and then stuck a sand wedge about 6 feet away and made birdie. He hit a 9 iron for his second shot and it took a bad bounce off the wrong side of the green, and he ended up making par.

We got into the cart and I said "nice drive tour star".

It made my day!
