Happy Thread

Great news! Funny, my IT band has a huge affect on my lower back pain too.
He pointed out that mine had caused my hip to rotate, my gait to be off, and my knee cap is clear over toward the inside of my leg.

Funny that nothing else bothered me?

Knee must just be taking the brunt of all of it?

My happy is that after my chiropractor friend got done wrenching on my shoulder to break up the scar tissue (possibly the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life), and a couple weeks of PT I'm hopeful I might be able to swing a golf club this summer.

I think I screwed up.

I was trying this IT band stretch and I guess I went too far.

My hip popped out of joint and it sounded like somebody whacking a pillow with a baseball bat.

Walking really hurts now.

I hope it's temporary!😁

Let the jokes begin.....

Does the specialist you saw earlier have an after hours number? Not something you drink away Jeff. If anything, they probably have a service taking calls.

Wanna bet?

Its just sore. I will be golfing by Thursday.😇

I've done far worse things to my body, and far Dumber things.

Well, I drugged myself pretty good with a muscle relaxer and Benadryl last night so I could sleep. It's about the same today which is good. Happy it didn't get worse.

Despite the mis-hap with the hip, I am happy for a lot of reasons.
  1. The specialist yesterday was amazing for a surgeon. Surgeons usually speak a different language, he explained in detail every facet of every x-ray and MRI image. He explained that what the previous surgeon thought was a tear, is where they removed some meniscus 35 years ago.
  2. I now know more about my knee than I ever did before.
  3. I was tentative and scared to do anything beyond a flat level walk for fear of damaging something and being laid up until I could have surgery, and then rehab. Now I know this can be fixed without cutting me open.
  4. I won't miss golf or hunting season!
I think I'll have a Bud Light!

Hey, just because you never get pain in that leg doesn't mean mine isn't real!
I get more debilitating pain in that leg than I do in the remainder of my body. Every time I am assigned a new doctor, they do a jaw dropping double take at the volume of gabapentin I take daily just to keep the phantom pains manageable. "Maybe we should work on ramping you down a little bit, no?"

That IS ramped down, doc...
