We have been listening to the feedback we have been getting on here, and do agree with you guys about the tag line with our logo. We are re-tooling the slogan to accurately reflect our position in the industry. I definitely understand the negative feedback on the tag line, and I appreciate the feedback, whether it is positive or negative.

Who 'voted'?

We actually had a 3rd party conduct several focus groups having people use 5 different online cigar retailers and rate them on functionality, cosmetics, etc....

We do agree though that that statement is over the top and are re-working the site now

As long as you have a link/comment area that mentions 'who' did the voting...do what you like!

You know how those Car ad's talk about being voted #1 yada, yada, yada....they all have information on the 'who'!

Does that $2 million include the the legal right to use the Rat Pack trademark & copyrights?

Several distributors now allow retailers to drop ship, making it very easy and cheap for anyone to put up an online shop. Not saying you guys are doing that, however the selection of cigars is very limited, and doesn't include much of any premium cigars.

Be careful with using copyrighted material... I host websites for a few individuals & businesses, and I've had the Disney attorney's on me a few times because of a hosting customer who used images of Disney characters without written consent from Disney. Your site is based around the rat pack, and if the respective owners of the rat pack images finds out, it probably won't be a good thing.

If you guys really want to sell cigars, then sell cigars. Trying to sell a false image isn't the way to run an honest business.

You don't really need that these days. There are photo hosting sites out there that own the rights to these photo's of celebrities. You just pay them a small fee to purchase the rights to use the photo's.

Celebrities Stock Photo's

ETA: Although I don't know if that's the case with these guys (If they bought these legally that is).

Nice find, LfK. I'd be interested to hear a response on how you've got permission to use the likeness of Frank, Dean and Sammy in your commercial venture, too.

A lot of questions all at once.

Here is our background. Stogieboys was created by two principal owners who currently run several other successful business. They are both cigar lovers and are running the business based around their passion for enjoying cigars. If the concern is that we are one or two guys sitting in a basement with programming knowledge, then that is very off base. We have a team of people dedicated to all aspects of the business, customer service, operations, distribution, and sales and marketing. There has been a significant investment to create the infrastructure to the company. Hearing about us now, and with the launch of an aggressive marketing campaign does not mean that we started doing this a few months ago. This has been a conglomeration of several years of work, creating the capacity and acquiring the personnel to run a good operation. Some of the marketing has been and is continuing to be tweaked based on the feedback we are receiving. The point is, we are here, and we have positioned ourselves to be a viable option for cigar enthusiasts for many years to come. If you don't believe it, order something and see that we are not fly-by-night. Our goal is be something a little bit different in the industry, but we're not getting there by cutting corners.

As far as the CI reference, yes we do have a few select items that we get wholesale from the backend of CI that we carry to help augment product selection.

Is one of them named Caputo?

Is one of them named Caputo?

No, and we do not have any affiliation to any other forum site

The "Stogie Girl" in the pink is also a "Solo Cigar Girl" :0

I gotta believe they just lifted those pics from random places. If these guys are affiliated with solo they will be done as far as reputable forums go.

Somethings not adding up. They own 7 domains which all point to the same site... Here are a few:

Stoagieboys.com
Stogeyboys.com
Stogeygirls.com
stogiegirls.com

Who's Paul? He's listed as admin/owner/tech/billing contact for the domain.

Why purchase so many variations of a domain?

Too many odd things about this company. I for one will certainly steer clear.

Why purchase so many variations of a domain?

That part at least is fairly common practice. A lot of companies purchase a variety of variations/common misspellings of their domains (as well as different extensions) and point them to their main site. For example, gooogle.com points to google.com.

We have a team of people dedicated to all aspects of the business, customer service, operations, distribution, and sales and marketing.

Better get the team to do some fact checking:

Arturo Fuente

Master cigar makers Carlos Fuente Sr. and Carlos Fuente Jr. craft impeccable cigars of the best quality within their Dominican factory. Their traditional "Gran Reserva" blend is mild-to-medium in body with a nutty core and delicate spice. It is one of the most consistent handmade cigars in the world.

Country: Nicaragua

How long has Fuente outsourced their Dominican factory production to Nicaragua?

Except for the toe smoking girl (who is smoking a cigarette BTW) I've already posted everything they show.

Paul is one of our principal owners, and like another poster listed, buying multiple domain names is a very common practice among many businesses.

I came on here to be able to have open discussions with all the members of this forum. Being a relatively new company, we want to do things the right way, and get objective opinions from everyone. Most people will tell you they like your product or your site when speaking directly with them, but this is a different channel where real opinions are given. If the odd things about the company are that it isn't exactly traditional and doing things the same way that the major players in the industry have been doing for years, then you are correct. That is exactly our goal.

I realize that taking a different approach may not work for everyone, however a different approach is not a bad thing.
