FFOX Opus 22 2008 Group Buy Round III

Wow, I was just checking here to make sure everything was good and to congratulate everyone on another successful group buy. I would have guessed the whole missing Perfecxion X was Prometheus' fault (anyone remember the missing BBMF Maduro from last year?). This sounds like the Fuente's messed it up when they filled the box.

Anyway, I'm going to make sure this gets resolved. Jeff, give me a buzz when you get some free time and we will figure out what needs to be done.

Just spoke with Eric on the phone, Carbonless.

Eric is going to do his best to iron something out with Fuente/Prometheus. The real pain/comedy of this ordeal is that it's a an extra regular release in the place of a regular release. If this was a maduro missing with an extra classic size, I'm sure some questions about the legitimacy of the claim would arise. However, as Eric and I laughed about, the Perf X would pretty much be one of the last cigars one would lie about missing in their Opus 22 set. That being said, IT IS a $950 box of cigars, and I have a feeling that this will get handled properly by the powers that be, especially since one person bought 3 of them.

In the mean time, I will hang on to the RdC and coffin in case (for some really odd reason) Fuente wants it back ???. Anyway, Brian, to compensate you for this drama, I'm going hook you up with some favorites you have listed in your profile. If you would like a refund for now, that's fine by me as well. If you just want the RdC instead of the Perf X, that's fine by me as well (so long as Fuente doesn't want it). Also, if down the line we can snag another Perf X + coffin (or something very comparable) and you would like to me to send it - that's fine, too.

Just shoot me a PM, Brian and I'll take care of you.

Thanks to everyone in all three rounds for some great group buys. HUGE thanks to Jack Schwartz and crew for offering one customer three of these sets. Another special big thanks to Eric for doing some dirty work with Fuente/Prometheus. Unfortunately, we came to an awkward conclusion with the PooPal and Fuente/Prometheus errors, but I have a feeling time will remedy all.

Jeff, I think you're handling this with grace and good humor. Too bad there was a hitch but it's not your fault. I remember all sorts of bad voodoo from last year's Fuente set too. Once again (and at the risk of boring you with repetitiveness), thanks for doing such a fine job on this whole thing. Taking on something like this is a real project. I'm the one who put together the Blind Thank You Test for Moki last year after we took version #1 of his Blind Taste Test. I only had to deal with 10 cigars and I think even that shaved 2 years off my life! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Good karma comes around. I advise you to keep your head down for a while and check the insurance on your mailbox. Good karma comes around for sure and on Cigar Pass it usually comes in the form of a ticking package. Not that I'm making a threat or anything... ;)

Heh, it figures that I would be the guy with the hitch :laugh: I'm not too worried about it. I'm more than willing to wait to see what, if anything, AF can do about the mixup. Most importantly, I know that you and Eric have gone out of your way to put this together so the last thing that I want is for either of you to have to do anything personally in the way of extra time etc. to get it resolved....and there is absolutely no need to compensate me for any drama. I'm excited that you allowed me to join in the group buy and hope that I can be a part of your next one if/when you decide to get it going. I'll send you a PM as well, but as long as you're ok with it I'll just hold out for a bit to see the outcome. If it doesn't get addressed by AF then I'd be willing to take the RdC. Thanks again for all of your hard work Jeff and Eric and no need to be concerned about this minor issue :thumbs:
 
OK... I got a UPS box at my door as I was walking out for work. They usually arrive around 1700 EST when I'm fast asleep.

I didn't have time to open it (had to get to work). However, I did get a glance at the shippers name. I don't necessarily know who it is off head, but whoever did it is a bastid! I will have to look through the alias/address text document I have on my home PC.

Thank you very, very much - even though I haven't opened it. You know who you are. Far too generous.

Once again, I'm glad everyone is getting their smokes. Still not update from Eric/Jack Schwartz about the Perf X. I'll keep you updated as I'm updated.

LMAO I got mine yesterday and I am saying damn I have 2 of these Forbidden X lanceros should smoke one. Same thought came to me FUENTE WHORE!!! :laugh:
