CP’s Cigars 201-1 Pass

Good deal pal.

Puts:
#49 Cohiba Black Supremo
#50 Opus X Petite Lancero

Takes:
#46 Padron 1926 #35 Maduro
#22 LFD Mysterio

I think it's right now. I have a hard time figuring prices for Opus and Anejo. What do you use? Any how, thanks for having me in the pass. You did another swell job on this Greg.

Thanks Mike! As always a pleasure having you part of it! For prices on the HTF/Rare Fuentes, go here. I also like checking out Vitolas.net as a good source for information. Lots of nice, mouth watering pictures! :D

I'm ready, Yanksfan. Send my way whenever. Correct address is in profile.

Got the pass today. Everything looks great. It'll be on it's way to Jeff tomorrow. Thanks again Greg. DC# 01038555749326560889

Unfortunately, Mr. Mac has informed me he has to bow out of the pass. Chico, you'll go ahead and ship to BigJake whenever your time comes. Thanks!!

Pass just arrived, however I'm very very very tired. I'm going to bed. I have to work tonight.

I will announce Put/Takes later and then mail tomorrow AM to KeithS.

Can't sleep. Damn company.

Box is fine. Took some excess tape off box. Cigars are fine. One minor mistake and one problem, not so minor.

Ernie111's #42 cigar put, the Gurkha Black Dragon was listed as an 8.5 x 52 "Presidente". In actuality, its a 7 x 56 "Grand Especial". I fixed it on the list.

Phlicker's #37 cigar, the Opus X Perfecxion X has very considerable wrapper damage underneath the cedar sleeve. A large chunk of the wrapper is missing, it's cracked, and it's unraveling pretty bad. The reason I noticed this was because I intended to make it one my takes. Given the fact that I took it out of the bag, planned on taking it when I saw it on the list, and was going to take it when the pass arrived, I still will, damage or not.

Takes:
#14 Opus X Fuente Fuente
#21 Padron 26th 40th Ann. Maduro
#37 Opus X Perfecxion X

Puts:
#51 Anejo 49
#52 Zino Platinum Crown Series Barrel Tubo
#53 Padron 64 Torpedo Natural

If these are ok, it goes to KeithS tomorrow.

Edit for wrapper clarification on Padron 64.

Another minor problem...

Phlicker your hand writting is WAY too neat. Simply amazing.

JL, my apologies for the condition of the Opus. I honestly had no idea, as I never bothered to take the cedar off before I put it down to nap. Considering the mold issues with last year's Anejos though, I probably should have. This should go without saying, but had I known I certainly wouldn't have put it in the pass. I feel like a heel, this definitely not my M.O. Since you've decided to keep it rather than taking it out of rotation, please PM me your address (as I don't have a copy of the pass list), and I'll make it up to you. I'll even write nice and neat on the shipping label for you

I had question on the Opus trades due to factoring in the rarity for rarity part. After consulting with my behind the scenes "unofficial" professor, it was decided the Padron/Opus trade wouldn't work. However, seeing that the Perf X is badly damaged and it is most excellent of you to want to take it even with the damage, I want you to go ahead and keep it, but also find another trade for the Padron Torp. As far as the Anejo/Opus trade the price is spot on, however there's still the question of rarity for rarity. Although the Anejo is rare, it could be said that the Opus is a bit more rare/HTF. I'm going to go ahead and okay that trade and the Zino/Padron 40th is definitely good to go.

Edited to add sorry about that Jeff! Anejo/Opus damn good trade! :D

Although the Anejo is rare, it could be said that the Opus is a bit more rare/HTF.

I would have to disagree a little bit on this one. Anejo are released but once a year and Opus X are typically released at the end of every quarter.

Ok Greg. Just for learning purposes here. Even though the value of the Opus and Anejo are spot on, a judgement call is needed because of the rarity? It gets kinda confusing to me. Also, what does everybody use to value the price of Opus/Anejos? The pinned thread in the cigar lounge is a year old and I myself paid more than listed MSRP on everything I bought. Excluding taxes naturally.
BTW Philicker, I wasnt gonna mention the writing :p

On Opus and Anejo MSRP is used, if you paid more (as most of us have) that is not a factor because of the gouging that is happening.

The thread was updated to reflect the current MSRP prices. They are accurate.

There was actually supposed to be a question mark at the end of that sentence.

Thanks for the info on the Anejo/Opus rarity Tkoepp! This is why we call it a "learning" pass! :D

I agree with Tim on this one. Holts only gets Anejos in once a year (around Christmas), but they have Opus come in several times a year. I'd argue that Anejos and Hemi Maduros are more HTF than Opus as they are part of Fuente's "Holiday" release. They were once a little easier to come by when they were release around Father's Day as well, but in these parts Opus are definitely a more common sighting.

Alright, pile it on, gentlemen
I took Mechanical Drawing/CAD in school and never quite shook the lettering, ok?

Okay, someone take a picture of Phlickers handwriting and post it. :D

Speaking of pictures...what happened to the pass pictures?? Don, Mike, Jeff? Y'all skeered? :p
