Colorado wildfires

Thoughts to my friends, coworkers and BOTLs in Colorado. The USAFA pictures really put it into perspective... it looks like everything on the North end West of I-25 is in danger.

As said previously, my prayers are with all Coloradans in the path of this devastating fire.

I am originally from Colordo Springs(Ft. Carson) and have a daughter who lives south of Denver.

Hope all goes well and thanks to the firefighters putting themselves in danger doing their jobs.

Anything new from the guys in Co ?

I hope everyone is safe and sound (I know some members of the Broncos forum) fear the worse for their homes...)

Local reports have it at ~300+ homes lost so far! The air is still thick with smoke.

Finally some rain up here in the high country. Prayers and best of wishes to all Coloradans effected by the fires.

What a mess. It is so hard to breath if you have respiratory issues. Couple that with the 30 or so fires burning elsewhere to the West and North of us and it is going to be a long time before we are breathing clean air again. Thank goodness we have only lost a few lives.

Authorities confirmed Monday that looting inside the evacuated perimeter had been a big problem, and prosecutors are turning their attention to the thieves.
About two dozen burglaries have been recorded inside the fire evacuation area, and on Thursdaytwo suspects were arrested.
Police also arrested 53-year-old Kip Andy Petersen, who was allegedly dressed as a firefighter when he was picked up Wednesday in the Rockrimmon area.
Dan May, the district attorney for El Paso and Teller counties, said he would prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
The maximum sentence for burglary in Colorado is 24 years.
"I hope you have packed your bags," he said, directing his comment to thieves. "We intend to evacuate you from our community."

My sisters house is in the Black Forest. They had to evacuate yesterday. Ceaser had it right, the only thing that can't be replaced is life.
