Now thats what I call cigar porn! :D

I just got my first two packages today. Thanks Swifty for the great sticks, and quite an awesome packaging job as well. Too bad Im gonna wait till they all show up before smoking any of them, gotta take pics. These are definately some of my favorites. :thumbs:

This is gonna really make my birthday special in October!

I think its a little on the shady end just to brown bag a box. But if he never opened it he could be giving away great sticks!!! I mean it could be one heck of an unopened box.

I think maybe he knew the name and didn't bother with it in the first place though.

The point is he didnt have the respect for the guy who gave him the sticks to even open the box and acknowledge what the person sent him, real scumbag thing to do.Then he didnt have the respect to open the box and make sure the sticks werent damaged or dried out or anything like that, real scumbag thing to do.Either way you stack it this guy is a scumbag IMHO.

Clue: I mentioned his "buddy" and BigMac said his name. Now go look for other guys from that same state and see which one has a website that matches with the "properties" of the picture I posted ;)
 
Oh for cryin' out loud. This week's winner is #3 Russ Rhoton. This guy ALMOST ALWAYS sends his cigars out late. The first time I won he sent me a Connie and some no-name maduro with no band. The second time I won, he sent me another Connie and some other bundled cigar, an Oro Cubano. I won the pool on October 22 and he didn't mail the cigars until SIX weeks later but of course he registered before the deadline that he sent them.

This guy is another guy who constantly violates the rules and lies. I'll send him some cigars but as you'll see in my registration:

"Sticks will go out late"

Just showing Russ the same consideration (or lack of) he shows for everyone else. :angry2:

I had noticed the same thing when I looked to see if he was up to date with his sticks. It seems he generally registers the day or 2 before the next drawing. I'll have to find something special to send him!

Send him something special alright, sometime around the beginning of November ;)

My package is all ready to go, complete with the "appropriate" sticks. :thumbs: It's sitting in the humi as I write this wil a little sticky that says:

"Mail on November 3rd"

Sorry about the unhappiness with this draw's Winner - when I declare a Winner, I go back thru the last few draws to see if this sticks were received and that they were registered on time. His were marked on time and received. He doesn't mark what he sends, which I don't like, but that's not a requirement at this point in time. Thx,

No problem at all Michael. Unfortunately, he takes advantage of the system and he's been doing it for years. Rick Herman and Chris Holcomb are also just as guilty as Russ Rhoton.

You've done a pretty darn good job to work on these problems like the "mark winnings received" feature :thumbs: BUT there are a certain few (at least the three aforementioed) who register so they are eligible to win and they never actually send the cigars when they say they do.

The problem arises when winners don't tell YOU (as the rules say they're supposed to) about guys who send the cigars way after the deadline. When the winners don't do this, how are you supposed to know?

Here's a suggestion, post something on the message board along the lines of:
"Due to some recently raised concerns I'm asking the winners to please follow the rule that is in place AND that pool participants adhere to this rule as well" (or something like that, you're better at diplomatically wording things like this than I am :laugh: ):

Rule #6 says the following:
6. The lucky number holder must track the packages received against the registered mailings, and report that the registered cigars have been received by logging them on the 'Mailings Received' grid on your Member Page. (please report any unreceived or damaged packages to the CigarPool administrator prior to the next drawing deadline). To be eligible for the drawing, each CigarPool member must send his or her gifted cigars to the lucky number holder before the deadline. Please understand that the rules are in place so that everyone has a good time participating. It is no fun to expect 100 cigars and never get them!

Now okay, most winners are lucky if they receive less than half of their winnings in the two week time frame BUT the winners SHOULD report people to you who send them ridiculously late (like two weeks AFTER the deadline). I'll admit it, a couple of times in the four+ years I've been in the pool, I've sent them a little late but not three weeks or more after the deadline (well except Jon Baldwin who sent me my sticks two and a half months late so I returned the favor when he won :laugh: ) Two wrongs don't make a right but it sure made me feel good. ;)
 
I agree about Russ in general, although in my instance, his was one of the first ones I received. He lives across the state from me, so it was a short trip to get here.
("Free Cuba" bundle stick with naked lady on the band.)

I have received about 95% of the winnings and most of them are very nice quality sticks. Also, a good number of the members took the time to write notes of congratulations, notes explaining the age of the sticks, etc....

After seeing all of this first hand, I know I need to step it up a notch myself and make sure the winners get taken care of in more of a timely manor. :whistling:

Thanks again to all of the cpass members, you have shown me a lot of class, and the favor will be returned when you win! :thumbs:
 
I made a SPECIAL trip to the gas station today for Russ's cigars.

Yummy!!! Munniemakers with NO BANDS!!! He sends me unbanded smokes, he gets unbanded smokes in return ;)

Russ was only about a week late this time around. I believe I received a Connie and some unbanded Lonsdale from him. Speaking of deadbeats, it doesn't look like this guy Clint Moyer has sent anything out for 4 or 5 drawings. On a different note, I've noticed something about the last couple of times I've won -- The overall quality of the cigars has gone up quite a bit. The first couple of times, I got a lot of dog rockets left over from the "Boom", and quite a few Thompson house brands. Very few of these in the last couple of wins. I was digging around in the Igloo today, packaging up cigarpool mailings in advance. I've got them bagged up and ready for the next 8 or 9 drawings. I found some stuff in the bottom Igloo, (I've got two... The top one is full of singles, the bottom one is full of boxes) that were absolutely covered in bloom. They literally sparkle when you hold them up to the light.
