AppearanceNotes

Nice looking stick. It had a few stems in the wrapper but nothing out of the ordinary. Very nice triple cap. It appears to have 4-5 caps. Nice constant medium-brown color. Box pressed.
ConstructionNotes

I saw no problems with construction. No soft/hard spots. Very well made.
TasteNotes

The pre-light taste was classic cuban. It had the flavor that appeared to have a little age on it. It was not a new stick. The lit taste was smooth and medium-full. Very smooth. I am not good with identifying flavors but this was definately a taste that I love. It got a little less smooth and a little stronger at the half way point but it stayed good throughout.
OverallNotes

How can this not be a Monte #4? It is 1/8-1/4" too short for that. The Monte #4 is my favorite and if this ain't one, I have a 2nd favorite. I really enjoyed the cigar. The size is the one that I go to most often. Thanks for letting me try it.

Few veins, pretty stick
ConstructionNotes

Not too firm. Not too loose. Need I say more?
TasteNotes

I thought the cigar was more mild than the cigars I typically smoke. Still fine.
OverallNotes

Very nice.

I'm home again and posted the last two reviews for cigar#1. I'd love to say I'm surprised by the wide difference of opinions on this cigar but I'm not. These were young cigars and while taste profiles are usually consistent I've smoked cigars from the same box that appeared to have a different taste profile to me before. Not often mind you but it has happened.

Of the 13 people that reviewed this cigar 11 would recommend it. 9 rated it as a good cigar or better, 2 rated it as average, and two strongly rated it as a dog rocket.

Great round of reviews guys. Lets go ahead and get started on Cigar #2 if you haven't already. I will once again have limited time this wkend so hopefully everyone can have their review in by mid-day Sunday and I can post them all Sunday afternoon.

Waiting on three reviews. I'll post the particulars once I get all the reviews or hear otherwise from the outstanding ones.

PM's to those still missing.

For those that have already smoked and done their reviews on cigar #2...feel free to move forward to the last cigar, #3.

Several people have been in communication with me about not being able to complete these reviews as planned for various reasons. I once again want to thank those that have communicated this info with me. I bring this up because some people have been less than timely with their reviews and I have not heard from them. The expectations to participate were quite clear and I'm reposting a few lines from the original invitation:

Please read all of the requirments before submitting your name to play.
This review, once started will take three weeks to complete.
This is non negotiable.... if you can't smoke one cigar a week and timely fill out the simple review form by the Sunday of each week, don't sign up.

I will not be sending follow up PM's or e-mails for Cigar #3. I can assure you I will not be hosting another Blind review. To those that have been timely with your reviews and those of you who have communicated to me about your circumstances, Thank You.

AppearanceNotes
A littley vieny, but perfectly rolled

ConstructionNotes
A tad inconsistent in the firmness.

TasteNotes
It was barrely spicy. It was too mild for me to really pick anything else out. It was really good in any case.

OverallNotes
I know I'll never get the brand, but I'll guess La Auroras. Though the shape was obviously not a match, it reminded me of the Preferidos 1903s. Maybe this was a Leoninos. I liked it very much. I hope it's suprisingly cheap :)

OverallNotes
The cigar looked great but was too mild for my liking

AppearanceNotes
6 X 47 cigar with a colorado shade wrapper.

ConstructionNotes
Solid with no soft spots. Several veins on the wrapper. Cap was slightly crooked. Wrapper was torn, probably due to a band being removed.

TasteNotes
First half of the cigar was good with a slight floral aroma. Medium flavor and strength. Once I hit the second half of the cigar I started getting a very sour taste from it that continued to get worse until I finally pitched it with about 3/4 of it smoked.

OverallNotes
From appearance and construction I was looking forward to smoking this, looks can be deceiving! Not a bad cigar the first half of the cigar. Second half was terrible.

AppearanceNotes
Some veins showing. Color was consistent.

ConstructionNotes
Firm stick. So soft spots. Seems well constructed

TasteNotes
This cigar had the taste of a medium end stick but it was not a flavor that I like very much. It had somwhat of an acidic taste to it. One dimensional (whatever that means) It didn't turn me on much. I smoked it long enough to make sure it had enough time to warm up to give it a fair shot but nothing happened so I tossed it just before the ash was ready to fall off.

OverallNotes
Everything about the cigar was way better than average. Everything except the taste. It wasn't a harsh taste or even a rank taste, just not one I tend to like. Someone else would like this cigar. It just wasn't for me. How's that for riding the fence? I rated the cigar as "Good Cigar" because the cigar was high quality. Again, I just couldn't get past the taste.

AppearanceNotes
Dark, almost greenish in color. One long vein running the entire length of the cigar. Very smooth texture.

ConstructionNotes
Evenly packed, no hard or soft spots anywhere. Cap is a little sloppy... but distinctively triple.

TasteNotes
Lots of coffee/nut-like flavors. Flavorful, but without an edge. If I had to guess, I'd say this was probably a little young, or maybe with just very little age on it.

OverallNotes
I really liked this cigar. The flavors were strong and pronounced, but not overpowering. It feels like there's potential to be explored. Perhaps further aging will bring it out. I'd venture to say not quite a "high-end" ISOM, but rather something in the ballpark of a San Cristobal or another lesser known brand.

AppearanceNotes
Dark brown wrapper, one noticable vein in the wrapper a couple under it. Nice even cap, couldn't tell if it was a triple without digging up my glass to check.

ConstructionNotes
Very firm roll, even with no soft spots. Was a bit worried that this stick was plugged due to being so firm. Nice draw just as it should be.

TasteNotes
I had a very hard time with this stick as I found it to be very light in taste. Toasted tobacco, and a taste I associate with corojo wrappers, paper. Maybe a bit past it's prime?

OverallNotes
A well rolled 6 x 46 cigar. Smooth firm draw, very even burn. The split was just a small one where I was holding the stick. Despite the flavors being too light for me the strength was there. I got a nice buzz from the stick. I said Ho-Hum due to the light flavor, every thing else was there.

A bit rough but this puppy has age! A slight plume setting in.

ConstructionNotes
A bit rough and slightly veiny

TasteNotes
Mmmmm Good.

OverallNotes
My guess right off the bat upon inspection was an aged LGC dominican. But upon lighting, it changed immediately to the AF family. The ash held on for almost 3" and that points to less than a hand-full of makers.

AppearanceNotes
This ones a rough looking veiny maduro. The wrapper had several blemishes.

ConstructionNotes
It's well rolled with no loose spots. It has several several large veins and has bumps under the wrapper. The cap is well made.

TasteNotes
It's got sweet tobacco flavors with light spice and leather on the finish. At times I could taste a charred coffee note.

OverallNotes
Not a bad cigar if priced right. My guess is it's a bundled cigar possibly of Honduran heritage.
