BBQ Herf, Thread for plans and roster

Boy do I have a lot of work to do tomorrow so I can get the next few days off! This will be a good time, can't wait.

Next to pick out the Birhtday smoke for Saturday!

Quick update for those camping:

There's lots of room for tents/campers/etc. Dennis is having a port-o-john delivered for convenience sake and there's plenty of wood for the campfire.
Dark sets in here around 8:00. It's 8:45 now and it's very nice by the river. For those who were wondering, there's not a skeeter in sight!

Erick, we've got a nice site picked out for the smoker -- plenty of shade, level and right by the river.

I can tell the wife is getting excited - she is asking me what everyone is saying about the BBQ Herf - Kids are excited too. They want to know what "Mr. Hawk's place looks like" Only 3 more days.

Erick - any pictures of the HOG?

Howdy!

Is the list of attendees up to date? (19 BOTLs + family)

Thanks,
~Mark

The weather is supposed to be SWEET!!! Mid-upper 80's, fairly low humidity and NO RAIN until Sun afternoon!

Going back through the threads, this the list I came up with:

TheHatguy – Dennis + a gaggle! (15+)
Hillbilly Steaks - Erick
Stevehawk – Steve
JunkMan 56 - Carl
AVB - Ray
Shooter - Shane
Cigardawg - Scott + wife + 3
Cookie 1978 - Rob
Gtphale - Stephen
Ludwig - Andrew
Mrjinlesusa - Jim
Alexgtp – Alex
DDepaola - Dan
Mr Wolf - Daniel
Melski - Mel
Shadow - Bill
BrewMeister - Tim

My son and I are still planning on making the trip... he really wants to camp out along the river, so I need to see if the tent is still in working order, etc. etc. We figure on arriving sometime Saturday afternoon...

:)

Don't forget Mrs. Hillbilly Steaks. I believe my parents are going to come hang out during the day on Saturday as well.

I'm planning on 50 for cooking. Seems like a nice round number.

Also if the kids want to fish make sure you bring fishing poles and nightcrawlers. The water is very nice and low this time of year. So you will be able to walk out a ways.

A cab of Punch Super Selection No. 2s should do nicely.

Funny you mentioned those, I had those slated but "tested" one this weekend and even at 5 years they aren't ready yet. (The SS#2s need AT LEAST 8 years before they start getting good...so I've heard ;) )

I have another discontinued item in mind now

I just put in the order for the Hog. Its going to be between 100 - 115 lbs. I think we will have enough food, LOL.

Gettin my gear all packed up, ready to head out in the morning. Passed up a huge party tonight in Indy, so I would be road ready tomorrow..

Sorry guys.
Its official I wont be able to make it. Have a big project that was scheduled this Friday and Saturday. (damn cardiologists and their fancy machines..LOL)

HAve a smoke and a drink and a rib for me.

Take lots of pics of the good time I missed.
