Part of why I prefer this forum is the lack of silly medals or "reputation" or the like. Those types of things take away from what should be the focus of the BOTL experience - sharing cigars!

me personally....I like to bomb...hit...trade...pif...pib...etc...all w/out the thought of getting something in return...To me it is the thought that counts...I have "participated" in several bombing runs both here and at other sites I belong too...and it was never done thinking I was going to get hit back...I LIKE to do it...whether or not the person acknowledges it (publicly or otherwise) it makes no difference to me...it is all about the fact that I am able to meet...talk...herf...or whatever with ppl who like what I like...ie cigars...and if I am able to give a lil sumfin sumfin to another botl/sotl so much the better...the generosity of the all the brothers I have met online at all the boards I am a member of continues to astound me to this day...And yes I have only been into cigars a lil over a yr and all but that is not the point...I like cigars...smoking them...talking about 'em...trading them...etc..so forth and so on...and will continue to do what I can in order to brighten someone's day any chance I am able...I basically try and and do like was done to me by a fog on another board who is also a member here btw...his generosity towards me was amazing...not only in the NST we did but in the fact that he spent hours on YM with me...pm's...etc...just chatting..helping...whatever I asked he answered..and that is where I got my introduction in what I call the true meaning of "botl-hood"...the generosity...not just cigars...everything...and I try and do that for anyone I can...not for recognition...not for fame...cuz I can and want to...len

Nicely put, Len. I was bombed. It absolutely floored me that somebody who didn't even know me did something like that. I carried this warm and fuzzy milk-of-human-kindness feeling around for days. Naturally I did the noob thing and thanked him profusely both by PM and on the board, even though he didn't do it for recognition. I just believe that you should thank somebody when they do something nice for you. Conversley I am neither looking for nor expect thanks when I will bomb somebody. That's my take on the spirit of bombing. You do it because you want to do something nice for somebody. A perfect example of altruism.

I ran across this again, thought it was worth looking at. :thumbs: It helped me a lot when I first joined up here running the Newbie War and all, maybe it will help some other new guys too. :whistling:
