Any Beatles fans?

I've always been a huge Beatles fan. They were a major influence in my musical tastes. I was wondering who else listens to them.
 
No doubt. The Beatles produced an amazing amount of excellent music in a variety of styles. Although there are other bands that have influenced me more, the Beatles are right up there and a tough act to follow imho
 
IMO The Beatles are the second greatest band of all time... and that is a very close second. The only band I appreciate more is Pink Floyd. However there is little better than sitting back, and relaxing, listening to one of the great album compositons done by The Beatles (e.g., Sgt. Pepper's, Abbey Road, The White Album)

Edit to say I love earlier stuff from The Beatles too, but had it not been for Rubber Soul and later albums I wouldn't have ever given the early stuff a listen.

Great music. I listened to an album a friend gave me, (though many Beatles enthusiasts will probably puke at the thought) of a unknown female artist who remixed some original songs into a mellow beat.

That said, there is nothing that can out do the original tracks.
 
Greetings! I remember watching all of The Beatles' television appearances on "The Ed Sullivan Show", back in 1964. This was the first major wave of "The British Invasion". I must say that I generally prefer The Beatles' earlier recordings, as compared to their later ones. It does seem, that after all these years, that Paul McCartney is still doing well. Because of my father working for NBC New York at the time and the fact that WNBC didn't play "popular" music at the time they had some passes available which weren't all used . My little butt was parked in the press area in Shea 1965 next to my pained looking old man.

View wasn't great and you couldn't understand a thing since the screaming was louder then the PA. I have more power in my home theater then they did for that concert :p
 
Huge Beatles fan and collector here! Got all the original vinyl (EMI, Capital rainbow label, and Apple Corps.) including singles with picture sleeves. Then took it a step further and set out to collect the entire Apple library (all artists that ever recorded on the label). Just lack 2 or 3 albums and a few singles to be done - although I'll admit the records have taken a back seat to cigars and Mustang parts over the last few years! Never can pass up a good bootleg, either. We've got most of the better quality ones.

As a matter of fact, the Beatles are why I took up electric guitar all those years ago. To me, it's among the greatest music ever made.
 
Not to take anything from the Beatles, but the Stones are my cup of tea! :D :cool:
 
The Beatles were ahead of thier time, even when they were just a pop group playing the Cave in Liverpool. I don't think anyone can really say that they don't have a favorite tune from the Beatles either.
 
Love the Beatles. Timeless rock. Got a chance to see Paul McCartney in Munich a few years ago. Small concert, probably only about 5000 people, but it was great. No one in the place was as close as I was, awesome.
 
Back in the olden days people were divided into two camps. Beatles fans and Stones fans. I was a Stones fan.

The Beatles were really good. I used to have an 8-track recording many many moons ago. I think it was the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heartband album. But I did like some of their other stuff.
 
Yesterday afternoon I listened to the “Please, Please me” album, then “With the Beatles”, then “A Hard Day’s Night”, “Beatles for sale”, “Help” and then finished with “Rubber Soul” (See Where I’m going with this?). This morning I’ll pick up where I left off and I should make it through “Revolver”, “Collection of Beatles Oldies (But Goldies)”, “SGT Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, “Magical Mystery Tour”, “The Beatles” (AKA, The White Album), “Yellow Submarine”, “Abby Road”, “Hey Jude/The Beatles Again”, and I’ll probably finish the day with “Let It Be”.

That only leaves me 12 more albums for the rest of the week. The only official releases I’m missing (that I’m aware of) are the anthologies.
 
Hmmm, Though it’s one of my favorite albums, perhaps “Revolver” wasn’t the best morning pick but I’m sticking to the order of release and “Collection of Beatles Oldies (But Goldies)” smoothed the morning back out. I’m halfway through “Yellow Submarine” then I’m on to “Abbey Road”.

I have a program that has everything (I think) prior to “Beatles 1” so any one who’s posted above and whose addy is not in your profile and would like a copy, p/m me with an addy.

I agree. I prefer the Stones as well, as compared to the Beatles anyway.

But, even more importantly, I have always been a much bigger Beach Boys and Brian Wilson fan. To me it gets no better than the Beach Boys and especially "Pet Sounds." My God that lp is one of the best things ever committed to record. Period. The Beatles even acknowledged that they would have not had made their "masterpiece" of Sgt. Peppers' had it not been for "Pet Sounds." Oddly, even "Pet Sounds" was made in effort to top "Rubber Soul," so I guess the wheels go 'round and 'round...but it just doesn't get any finer for me than Brian Wilson and gang. Never has, nor will.
