1400 post contest

Now I feel like a real A$$ even though my comment was in jest. Sorry for your loss.

Congrats to the winners although in this contest we all won.

Brad,

This was great idea for a contest! As all can attest, cigars are part of our lives and become the "background" for life's ups and downs or part of the "tapestry" if you will. I enjoyed reading the stories that were posted and, I too, wish there had been more. Excellent choices as well!

Condolences to you and yours for your recent loss.

Man...sorry to hear about the mother-in-law Brad. I hope your wife is doing ok.

Brad,
sorry to hear about your families loss prayers go out to you. grts to the winners.

Sorry to hear that Brad. Thank you again for the contest. It's been a pleasure reading these stories.

Thanks again for the contest Brad, and congrats to the winners.

My condoleneces to you and your wife.

Bruce

I'm just shooting the story out since it's a great concept.
I know the 'contest' is over, and that's fine.
As was said earlier, it's about sharing.

My best cigar experience (sofar) happened about two months ago in the woods near Tarrywhile Castle (just off Brushy Hill Road) on a lake in a public watershed. It was me, the wind, an Indian Tabac super fuerte, and my friend Charlotte.
I sat on a rock overlooking a breathtaking lake, the wind was gusting small patches of waves across the water. The loudest sounds were the fish jumping and the leaves talking to the wind.
I sat on that rock and watched a spider weave it's immense web from light until nub all the while letting the sun color the sky.
It was, quite literally, the most peaceful experience of my life (with a cigar, and almost ever!)

Thanks for listenin' I'm not much of a writer, if I could only send you a screenshot from my mind...

Uh, am I the only one that thinks this might be a bit scarry? ???

Thanks for sharing Rob, you know we love you.....

First off my deepest heartfelt condolences for your family's loss Brad.

To everyone who entered the contest...

Everyone's a winner, baby, that's the truth (yes, the truth),
Everyone's a winner, baby, that's no lie (yes, no lie)

congrats, and thanks for all the great stories! All of them were a lot of fun to read

Marc congrats to winning the grand prize! You had better take a lot of pictures when you go to the dinner!

And to Brad, thanks for a great idea for a contest and just being you.

Brad- Thank you again for the fantasic contest and for sharing a few amazing stories with us (good and bad). I'm very sorry to hear about your MIL, I really hope that your wife and family are doing okay. :(

Brad.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Bro.
I think we all know how hard it is to lose a family member.
My last big brother was killed a while back and I am still cut about it. It is not just losing another brother, or the way he went. For me it is the fact that both my brothers never made it to 40. And here I am alone, but for my wife. Thank fuck she has stood by me through good and bad.
All the best mate and thanks for the opportunity to enter your contest.

First and formost my condoleneces to you and your wife.

Brad I wish I had seen your contest you got some great stories.

I have read and re-read every entry in this contest starting from the very first. I am in awe of the the memories that the members of this family have made while smoking cigars. I feel like I know everyone just a little better now. I have smoked about 15-20 cigars, 90% of them while sitting alone outside listening to a country kill it's self from the inside out. For now, I know that I have no story to tell, good or bad, but that soon I will be home with the ones I care about the most, and with new friends to boot....All you Texas Brothers just wait....and then I will be able to take this new found joy and bring into the fold with my true life, not the crap I am doing and dealing with now.

You are one of the Brothers that I try to emulate, you are top notch, no one on this board can say otherwise. My career will bring me to Ft Leonard Wood again, and you can bet that you will be on the short list of people to see. Your generosity knows no bounds, this community is all the better for it. I am sorry that I had no entry, but IMHO, this has been one of the finest contest and examples of what a TRUE BOTL is.

ok ok ok, enuff ass kissing
Smoke'em if ya got'em
Tim

Hey gang, I've had some packing issues(out of small boxes!) and they won't be resolved until I get back from RTDA(I leave Saturday!) Ray, your box will go out today. Mike is going to pick up Marc's and do the dinner portion of my prize. As for the rest of you that I owe 5'ers to, I don't get back until Wednesday night so there will be a little delay on your packages. I ordered the boxes I need this morning so they should be here when I return. Once again, sorry for the delay. Thank you all for you kindness in my families time of grief.

Let me tell you folks who didn't enter you missed out on one hell of a prize pack. I'm shattered. I won't be able to hold a contest myself since my prizes can in no way compete with the standard Brad has set. This is so far over the top I can't even see where the top is.

You do have to tell me what the unbanded super Toro is (~5.75x56 or so)

I can't express my gratitude enough.

Whoa! I just caught up on this thread and, I wanted to say I'm very sorry to hear about you and your wifes loss Brad. I hope all is well.

Congrats Ray!
