What is this Tatuaje? I've seen it around but never really heard of it
And they're pretty tasty! There is a sticky at the top of the page, they are a Don Pepin product line.
The craftsmanship is excellent, not surprisingly, since they are made by Cuban expatriate level 8 cigar rollers.
Tatuaje, is Spanish for tattoo. It refers to the line of tattoos that grace the arms of the cigar's creator, Pete Johnson. This fella Johnson was the cigar buyer for the Grand Havana Room in Beverly Hills. He decided he wanted his own unique cigar offering. He turned to Don Pepin Garcia and his El Rey de los Habanos factory in little Havana. What they came up with was a damn good cigar. The craftsmanship is excellent, not surprisingly, since they are made by Cuban expatriate level 8 cigar rollers. The cigars look like they came from Cuba, down to the triple caps. Weather they taste like Cubans is a matter of opinion. They are however, in my opinion, some of the finest cigars available anywhere.

This cigar is a boutique brand...although I have heard that Pete is shipping production from the the small factory in Miami to Nicaragua to be able to supply the growing demand for his product! This may hurt the brand and it's reputation. I hope not...

All of Don Pepin's cigars need to be kept below 65% Rh. 62% would be better. When smoked at 70%, they are bitter and burn poorly. The RC184 is one of the best cigars I have had the pleasure to smoke. Complex (too complex for me to make any great observations), toasty, full of flavor, smooth and balanced. They generally need some time to dry out from the B&M, but when they are ready it is a special smoke worthy of the price tag, IMHO.

Wow, that's even better than a Level 7 Trauma Sturgeon!
Hey, that's not bad for a level 1 comedian. The craftsmanship is excellent, not surprisingly, since they are made by Cuban expatriate level 8 cigar rollers.

I feel like i should have known this considering my namesake. I love the Cabaiguans, now I need to find a Tatuaje. The Tatuaje and Cabaiguan lines will continue to be made in Miami. Pete is coming out with some NEW lines that will be made in Nicaragua.
