Netflix and other shows you are watching

Speak No Evil -- Fun, predictable thriller with some pretty good acting. This is one of those films where the actors really remind you of another actor, but obviously aren't them. The three main adults, save for James McAvoy... who is obviously James McAvoy... all resemble other famous actors in their looks and mannerisms. Worth a stream, for sure, or a movie ticket if you have a date night.

Joker 2 -- Save your money. I think I get the "art" that was being shot for, but I haven't wanted to walk out of a movie in a long, long time. The acting is a superb "10" by all except Harvey Dent. However, it is relatively plotless and pointless. The only payoff comes at the very, very end... and you have to be looking close to see it (it will answer a question we've all had since 2008, FWIW).
 
Finally got around to watching the third season of The Bear. It was good, but I still feel like Season 2 was it's peak. Season 2 felt like a ticking bomb that could go off at any moment. Season 3 felt like the aftermath of that bomb. Season 4 is going the be last season and I am ok with that.


Homicide: Life on The Street on Peacock. This was my favorite show of the mid-nighties, and it's finally on a streaming platform. It's surprising, how many of these episodes I remembered from back in the day. This show was full of great characters, who had arcs that would make you either love them or hate them, but they were just being human. Sure, that sounds like most characters on tv today but, back then was something fairly new. Most of the creative staff and a lot of actors went on to have roles in The Wire, which at times feels like a lose sequel to Homicide, or more correctly, Homicide was a prototype for The Wire. Fun fact, anyone who likes John Munch, from Law and Order, this is the show where that character originated from.
 
Nerding out on Lord of the Rings, after watching the 2nd season of Rings of Power. I watched them when they came out, but didn’t pay that much attention.
 
Perfect Days on Hulu. A wonderfully shot movie about a guy living his life as a public toiler cleaner in Tokyo. Most would probably find this movie boring as it literally follows his life over the course of a few days. Where this movie shines is that as you following his daily routine you are rewarded with little bits and pieces of who he is and how even though he might not have the most glamourous life, what he has is a fulfilling life in the things he has and how he enjoys his life.
 
I’ve been on an October horror movie kick, watching (for the first time) The Babadook, Sinister, the Witch, Barbarian, and maybe another one or two. The Witch (for me) was the clear standout.
 
Mostly animated stuff right now: Just finished watching Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft (it was pretty good) and currently watching Zack Snyder's Twilight of the Gods. Waiting for new seasons on The Diplomat and another animated series, Arcane.

Lincoln Lawyer - I didn't even know there was going to be a 3rd season.
Only Murders in the building - Fun time waster.

It's funny that you mention The Babadook and The Witch. I had never heard of those, until we watched the latest Scream, this weekend. Guess I'll have to watch these.
