Worst cigar ever!

An Anejo Shark I bought in the shop close to the beach in daytona last year, let it sit in my humi for a month and when I fired it up it tasted like pure diesel fuel, it was horrible.Since then I have purchased many sharks from a reliable source and they are wonderful. To this day I still think this was a fake I bought in daytona and I have no idea what it really was.I kinda knew I may be in trouble because the cello looked like it had been removed a hundred times, but I had never had one and found one so I had to try it.

One pack was really good, it had a Padron, a Cuban Parejo (which im told is a good cigar), a Monte Cristo (cuban), and a Romeo y Julieta 1875 anniversario.  (It also had a spirit of cuba cigar which i looked up and its like $2 retail).

How did you manage that in Nevada? Don't think they would be selling Cuban cigars in a cigar shop there, much less in a mystery bag.

Well remember I'm a newb, so whether it's really a cuban or not i wouldn't know...i did look it up online to see if it "looked" like a real one or not...it does "look" like one. But the guy at the shop said "this ones a cuban"

And as for Helix..i quite heartily agree, but the baccarat was worse...believe me Helix is a damn good cigar in comparison to it.

Chris, post a picture of the cigar.

probably a fake one...my worst cigar I ever smoked was a spirit of cuba as well...

I shop frequently where chris got the grab bag at. I recently go a "hand rolled" swisher sweet in a sampler..I stopped buying samplers there

It wasn't a bad deal even if its a fake, i'll let matty take a look at it, the home comp is down so no pic taking ability. But with the deal i recieved half a dozen cigars i won't like more than likely...probably my last sampler as well.

I'm looking forward to participating in future passes, that will replace my need for random cigars ;).

Before I ever read these two posts I already had in my mind: "Pinar" and "Quorum"

They's some nasty shizz! :(

Hmmmmm, smoked a Pinar XXX 3000 Churchill last night. Very good smoke. Good volume, nice draw, burned a little uneven, but not bad. Flavor was of coffee and charred wood. Very nice. Even with the short review, I'd still give it a strong B to B+.

YAh...I've always wondered about them Pinar Pre-Embargo Cubans. Are they Ok or are they as they say "Some nasty shizz"?

That definitely depends on who you ask. I primarily smoke the xxx 3000 series. I really like them. I think they are quality cigars. I especially like the toro and have a box of them. I have tried the Series B pre-embargo...not so good. Not "nasty shizz,", but not a very good cigar either.

I think 90% of the remaining members of the board would disagree with me. :p

Well i smoked the Cuban Parejo last night..wasn't bad...i'd probably rate it around a 5 on a scale of 1-10. Definately was not one of my fav's. But not a bad smoke.

A 5 huh, is that with 1 being good and 10 bad or 10 good and 1 bad?? Might help to know that so we know how it really rated. :p

Add another vote in for the Helix brand....the ones with the purple ring werent half bad, in fact, i might go as far as to call them slightly good, but the ones with the blue ring were pure garbage. Imagine taking a peice of cigar shaped dog poo and smoking it...probably the best analogy i can give of what it was like. Id smoke swisher sweets any day over one of those again!

Picture the olympics of cigars...and my Cuban Parejo did a dive into my mouth...the judges rated it a 5, my Cohiba Cuban i smoked last week did a fantastic dive and was rated a 10. So 10 being best...just like in the olympics :p
