Actually in this format, 1st and 2nd get paid. There is no 3rd place gift.
 
Not that calling fouls in soccer has really ever been consistent, but I feel this world cup has been awful!! Belgium got screwed on a few there in the end.

The folks who finish 3rd and 4th will send a fiver to the person that finishes 2nd.

The folks that finish 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th will send a fiver to the person that finishes first.
