My cigar shop loves it when my wife comes along. First off, she hates going anywhere near where a walk-in humidor is with me because she knows I'm going to be a while... A guys gotta shop, right. I mean, after all, did you ever go clothes shopping with a woman??? But she always patiently waits for me while I "shop". Or tells me to shop for cigars while she looks at the womans clothes...
To the point of my story... A few months back I went to my local shop to pick up a few things. Lo, and behold, he has a sale on Cohiba's. Cohiba's to me have been historically overpriced, and now they were in the "normal" range. So I grab a few (with the wife's blessing, of course) and check out. The store owner mentions to me "did you see the XV's were on sale too?" "Why, no" I reply and dutifully walk back into the humidor to check it out.
In the mean time, the cigar store owner turns to my wife to apologize. She said, "that's okay - they make him happy. Whatever he wants". When I came out with my second handful of cigars and plop them on the counter, the cigar shop owner said, "I like you wife! She's great!". I asked why, and both looked sheepishly away - not wanting to answer. :whistling: Later in the car, the wifey spilled the beans... She, too, is a great lady.
However, Alex, your girlfriend is even better than my wife in that she must have really spent some time shopping - or blindly took the store owners recommendations as to what to buy. Either way she got a great group of cigars. My wife would think it was okay to pick up me up the $12.99 Walgreen's bundles, not knowing they're garbage. She just usually tells me to get what I want - she wouldn't know what to buy...
