I've got a question:

Has anyone ever tried to light a cigar with a car cigarette lighter? I mean that is a flameless device with a flat surface and so should uniformly bring the entire foot of the cigar up to combustion temperature. Seems like it should be the perfect light. Am I missing something?

Butane or a match. If have been drinking, I have been known to try a car lighter.. Can't remember if it worked. But hey no one is perfect.

^been there done that, oddly enough it dose work, it just takes like 4 times to get each corner light I think, i cant remember that well...

oh - and yea..I have...lit one on thirds due to the large ring gauge...I dropped my light betwen the seats and had to use the car lighter...DOH!!!

I've used the car lighter. It actually worked decently on slimmer cigars and short stories. Lit a 2002 Trini Fundi in the car not long ago.

I used a Bic lighter yesterday, it worked just fine, didn't affect flavour at all. Personally, I think all these expensive lighters and cutters are BS, I have been using a $2 cutter for years.

Actually, for the cleanest possible light try a magnifying glass and the mid-day sun.

Now if that option isn't available, feel free to do what we did in high school...a coat hanger touching both battery terminals on a '75 AMC Pacer.
