The T is a wicked awesome public transit system. :thumbs: Boston would be a real pissah! I'm 1hr. down the Pike, I would take my cah.

LOL!!! We could all meet at Haaarrvaaad Station and paak our cahs.
Boston has my vote as i am only a little over an hour away. plenty of hotels and bahs to dwink at. and a few cigar bars in town as well. it certainly would be pissah!
 
I believe the verdict has been handed down for the 2nd Annual CP Herf. Looks like it's Vegas again, baby!

We need to start working on Regional CP Herfs. How about making the BBQ Herf in August a "Mid-Atlantic Regional Herf"? It's still a couple of months off and folks coming from up and down the coast, as well as from Chicago and, um, Boise ID. :whistling:

I agree Vegas is a great place. And as I said before if members want to come they will come. I came from DC. Tony came from NY. Cookie came from Pitt. And all in all I think we had a great time. I know I did.

I will bring the shirts again. And maybe another Humi. :whistling: Don't know about rooms. I wiil see what I can do.
 
I attended a cigar crawl at Ybor City probably 8 of 9 years ago.

We visited the Cuesta Rey factory and got the grand tour. Met the family, got a bunch of freebies..shirts, cigars, and an Opus ash tray to the lucky winner (not me) :angry: . Saw more Fuente cigars than you would believe.

Visited a bunch of cigar stores where we were treated nicely. Edwards was primo. We met the owners of Cusano cigars and sampled their best. Vincent and Tampa Cigar shop did a lot of business that day. We had lunch at a cigar friendly restaurant. We visited a family cigar shop where the owner/roller entertained us.

Evening had us going to the Columbia restaurant where they had some rollers, & great food. A representative from Buccanero cigars was there and introduced us to his products. Moochers delight.

We each got a T shirt. The people that put this together rented a bus to transport us. I don't remember the cost, but it wasn't significant

Times have changed. You can't smoke in Florida restaurants any more.

I like the idea of Vegas in May and then another in the late summer/early fall, somewhere easy of the Mississippi. No reason we can't do two of these a year, we have enough members to make it happen in both places.

Now....... how about a "Welcome Home Herf" when we all get home.



Fort Hood will most likely have a Big Party for 4ID when we get home (Probably in the Spring) and DFW is only down the street. :rolleyes: When I get home for R&R in two weeks I'm going to ask the local Smoke Shop to see if he's interested.

That sounds great. And you guys deserve it. If it happens please let me know if I can't make it I will donate some things for the herf.

I like the idea of a regional event and a big annual event. It seems that would give the best chance for someone to make at least one of them. I know I would do my best to make at least one of the events and would love to make both if I could. Vegas sounds like a great choice for the "big one" and I'd be up for about anywhere for the regional herf. With enough notice, most people should be able to get to at least one of the events.

Actually, for only giving approx 3 months notice, AND the herf being on memorial day weekend, we had a pretty damn good turnout!

Everyone will have approx 9 months notice to prepare.

I'm sure we will at least have twice as many participants than last years Herf.

Also good times for Vegas would be JUN JUL AUG. Less conventions less people and cheapest prices on hotels and airfare to be had.
Reason being that less ppl travel to Vegas due to the heat and families take family trips to other parts of the country.


Remember the earlier you book the cheaper the airfare will be.
As far as rooms. The idea of getting a casino to put up a block of rooms for a designated CP HERF price sounds very do-able. I know of another board that had an arrangement with a hotel for discounted rooms.
 
Year round the airfare to the east coast is reasonably priced with a number of airports serving that area - and there are just a plethora of hotels in that area. Washington, DC, Philadelphia, New York, Boston and other great cities are short driving distances from one another. There's nightlife, gambling, historic sites, etc., etc., etc. Plus - it's not overwhelmingly hot during the summer! That would be a GREAT place for a herf.

It just seems to me that Vegas is a great place to spend some time gambling, but I'd rather not be distracted with the gaming while I'm trying to spend time with the other BOTL's on this board...
