Its been 39°c to 41°c for two weeks :( And while I have the taste in my mouth to go grab a stick out of the Humidor (safely stored in the Basement BTW) Its just too frigging HOT to go sit out on the Balcony and puff.

How many of you Gentlemen smoke in extreme conditions (other than the Iraq BOTLs who don't have a choice)?

Lately I just have been holding off, waiting and praying for a cool spell.

Can't say my appetite for a 'gar goes away with the temp.

It's been about 115 around here this past week, but I still can't wait to go herf each night.

I can see skipping a smoke or two though if you weren't accustomed to the conditions.

It gets between 105 and 120 degrees with 70-90% humidity in the shop most days from May to October. Though it does kill my appetite it certainly doesn't kill my need for a good cigar. However, I do find myself constantly wiping the sweat off of them and that always makes the last 1/4 smoke a little funny.

It doesn't kill my appetite! The extreme heat and wind does do some wear on the cigar. We often have discussions of what it must be like to some a cigar with 80 degree temperture.

100-105 F in Germany for two weeks? I don't remember Graf getting into the 80's when I passed through there. The heat doesn't change the desire but the humidity does control the size of the stick to some extent. At 90% humidity I'll look for a robusto, at 70% or less a churchill.

It's been in the 100's here for more than a week and I smoke outside. My desire to smoke isn't reduced, but my willingness to brave the heat certainly affects my actions. I typically hold off until later in the evening, when it gets down to 90 or so. I've gone from approx 6 cigars a week to about 2.

I generally wait until later in the evening if it is hot and humid outside.
Sometimes I’ll just go out there anyway and bake in the sun, I guess it really depends on the mood I am in at the time. ;)

We've been a little cooler here high 90's, but I work 6pm to 6am so the heat really dosn't affect my habbit very much at all. :D

Temps don't change my hunger for cigars.... usually the only thing that does that is excessive smoking of cigars (odd, eh?). My tastebuds flatline every so often, so I have to take it easy now and again. I'll take a warm day with little breeze for a good cigar smoke anyday!

Hottest its been in over 30 years, and its like being in a Sauna.

And I agree the hotter and more humid it is, the smaller the cigar I reach for. I ordered a box of RyJ Puritos on the weekend. They should be enough to blunt my cravings until it gets cooler around here.

Same here. We just got through a nasty heat wave (for us PacNW heat weenies) where it was well over 100 for several days and didn't cool off much at night. Not that I didn't want a smoke, but I sure didn't feel like sitting on my deck in 95+ degree heat to have one.

Much better now....

Yeah saddly Ive had few in the last month.

I just cant stand to be outside and bake. It doesnt fall off to an acceptable level for me until dark basically then its fun with bugs.

I may have to pull a lunch time mini solo herf at the B&M near the office.

Per your question, the heat doesn't reduce my desire to have a cigar. However, it does influence whether or not I actually grab one and smoke it.

I've smoked on some 95+ and humid days here and it is punishing. However, with plenty of cold drink and a nice easy pace, you sort of forget about the conditions...until you're done. Then the humid sticky smell really clings.

In hot weather, I'd prefer to smoke smaller, light smokes like QdO and certain mild, flavored cigars but have not had a bad time smoking toro-sized full-bodied cigars.

I thought that I would reserve my smoking room to partake when it was extremely cold or wet. The last week has been so freaking hot and even with some shade in my backyard, I have found myself retiring to the smoking room a few times during this period. Close the door, flip on both fans and chill. Ah, the good life.

Similar to Ginseng, I have also found myself smoking smaller cigars while outside. Last night I smoked 3 robusto and smaller sized cigars outside in short quick bursts.

Heat no problem I just get in the truck fire up a Gar and kick on the AC and no more heat problem. Don't fight it beat the heat! :D

It pretty much destroys the pleasure of smoking a cigar for me when it is too hot outside. It's been above 100 here for the last couple of weeks (with a small respite Saturday, 85!), and my smoking has been mostly confined to my commute home from work.

To me it changes the taste of the cigar.
