What's your workout routine?

As Winston Churchill was quoted as saying, " I get my exercise serving as pall bearer for my friends that do."

Doc

I've always been a gym rat, but the last 3-6 months before I went on Synthroid (most of my thryroid had to be removed in '00; the piece they left threw in the towel about 4 years ago) my workouts were so miserable and useless that I figured those days were over for good, and it was going to be walking the dog, mowing the lawn, and parking on the far sides of lots for exercise from now on.

New doctor fiddled with my dosage a bit, told me to get my ass back in the gym. Turns out . . . I was wrong. Feeling more like my old self every day now. Aches and pains and all!

It's a well-known fact that fear makes you faster, that's the only reason you're still alive Sneeds. And Kirk, come at me bro.

Started the Madcow linear 5x5 program again (Google is your friend), with some modifications for what I'm physically able to do. So, my deadlifts are pretty light, and I improvise with hack squats, leg presses, and steps with a barbell on my shoulders, but I expect that my bench will progress nicely like last time. Right now I mainly do a lot of core work, focusing on "practical" movements as simulations of stuff I do in my everyday life, such as picking up and carrying my kids, moving bags up and down the stairs, getting out of bed in the morning, etc...

Used to be big into lifting, when I was still playing sports. These days, with life and work getting in the way, I'll swim a half mile in the morning, and walk the dog in the evening. For the last month, I've been doing Sergeants Bootcamp in the DC area, and I really like the workouts. Its similar to the workouts we did at Platoon Leaders Course, or preseason (for those who need another frame of reference).

I swim a 1000 meters several times a week in the ocean, helps clean the sinuses and lungs. I have an upcoming shoulder surgery so only squats for me.

I go with small group intense workouts three times per week. Lots of lifting (squats, dead lifts, presses) and lots of cardio in those. On the off days I have been doing home workouts with the kids. Mostly sit-ups, push-ups and running with the kids. Get the young ones involved early so it becomes a habit....

I can't exercise. Doctors orders. 2 recent Back / neck surgeries were the straw that broke the camels back. That is a total of 4. If I try to exercise, I get real dizzy. I forget the medical term.
I was a fanatical weightlifter in my youth, and won many championships. I look back at that time in my life, and wonder; was I freaking insane?
I will say that if it wasnt for all that, I would probably be a lot worse off, as my doctors have said many times that they don't understand how I am walking.
Pays to be a psycho weightlifer, I suppose.

Funny thing is I never once had even the slightest injury from competitive weightlifting, or sports. Just took some dummies with a hand truck dropping stuff on me to do me in.
