I'm in love.....

Thank you Bill for helping me out on this mission!
It was my pleasure Paul, enjoy brother!!

Lovely pics, Tall Paul. I've always had this pipe dream that involved having a few thousand of my favorite Petit Coronas, namely Por Larranaga, Partagas, Bolivar, Monty 5, and SCDH El Principe by the time I retire. I if they drop the Embargo tomorrow (c'mon Obama and your Executive Powers streak you're on!) I could probably nab 200 or so. Good Start!!!

Recent Purchases:

1 bundle of Atlantic Cigar's La Tribu Corona.
I've gone through a bundle of Robustos and Toros. Trying to figure out my favorite.
This is a wonderful upper end of a med bodied smoke, if you like leather-bombs. A nice Dominican profile, heavy leather, some cedar, light spice,  and has a very unique "cool" (as in palate feel...in no way related to any sort of mint) sort of finish which I've been trying to figure out how to describe for years. It is the most unique finish I have ever encountered. I love them for something different and unique. I was actually given the honor of trying prototypes. One was one of the most amazing cigars I've ever smoked. Unfortunately, it had a heavy measure of super rare tobacco, and my impression is that it was not practical to go forward with that particular blend on a production basis. If they did, I'm convinced it would rank as a top cigar in the industry.

1 box of AF Don Carlos #4. Think I paid 110 at auction.

Been trying to win a box of Don Carlos #3, but I am pretty frugal lately, so sticking to my low ball strategy.

Box of PL P's and split a box of HdM Epi 2's

Nice Jason. I'm going to order a 50 Cab of the HdM 2's. Smoking very well even young.

Those usually do. I can't remember when I got a box of those that ever turned sour.

Dont give me ideas that will force me to sleep on the couch for the next decade Paul !

I just got a 25ct in and look forward to trying them. I had one gifted to me a year or so ago and loved it so about time I grabbed a box. Mine is May 2013

Look out for the wrapper on those Filthy Hooligans Gary. They have the most fragile wrappers I have seen to date.

Ya' know Louich, what you just said makes sense now. When I read about this years release, they made a big deal out of repeatedly saying that 'the 2014 version candela wrapper is now AGED'....without saying that there were issues with last year's release.  :whistling:

Thanks for the tip bro!

It's just a little bit of a palette adjustment to learn to enjoy freshly rolled CC. I have found over the years of smoking them that I really like that fresh, grassy, hay-like flavor a young CC produces....as long as they don't taste like you're sucking on a nickel!

The trick is finding which marcas consistently produce those flavors. To me, the HdM Epi #2s tend to deliver that...but on the flip side, I find that PLPCs don't...with them, it's hit or miss. There was a time when you could take these rules of assumption to the bank with certain CC...but not in the last 14-16 years in my opinion.

Once they settle down, light one up and see how it smokes...you'll know very quickly if you hit the jackpot.

Just got these babies in - a 50 cab of Hoyo De Monterrey Des Dieux 2002. Went in on a split with CigSid.

Lovely, I have a handful left from my 2003 box.

Wow, the above is impressive!

In the past month I have purchased...

RyJ Cazadores
RA Superiores
HDM Hoyo des Dieux

Cazzie's are in and delicious. First experience with RyJ and I went right after the one people called the most traditional. Plz get these everyone, they really are a joy. Nicotine kick for sure, but not spicy strong. Yum!!

The other two will be here tomorrow and as I'm just getting started around here, I'll try to do a couple of reviews.
