That's a serious basil plant!Tom, do you top off your basil so it bushes out or just let it go? I’ve always snapped the flowers off the top, when I grow basil.

We pick the leaves only. My wife’s been picking as needed for a month now. This was the first big pesto pick and we’ll get at least two more pesto picks if not three all while still steeling as needed for daily cooking. Eventually it all turned to seed and goes in the compose pile.Tom, do you top off your basil so it bushes out or just let it go? I’ve always snapped the flowers off the top, when I grow basil.

Yes I tried it, it taste like real meat. You cook it just like real meat, it comes just like ground beef.Did you try it Aaron? If so, what's your take?
I haven't been in a situation yet to try one.. You're right, it definitely looks the part. Hers looks minimally medium-well, how do you know when it's done.. was there pink?
Crazy expensive, but it is very good taste, texture, and all.Yes I tried it, it taste like real meat. You cook it just like real meat, it comes just like ground beef.

Umm NO I am not switching over... Fuck that! But my crazy wife is a vegetarian along with her mother and two older sisters. Long story short, when you're the youngest of four siblings and two of them including your mother stop eating meat because the oldest sister made such a huge deal about it that it traumatized you about meat at a young age, you probably don't have much of a chance... At least she isn't vegan, I believe those people just eat cardboard and cotton balls.Hmm.. Maybe I will ask for a bite next chance I get. The real question I guess, are you guys (@TexasTraveler) switching over to it vs the real deal? Madison is one of the most liberal cities in this country (let's just leave that alone)... as such, we have a TON of vegan and veggie places/choices and they're a really big thing here.
Many local eateries opt-in to "Meatless Mondays", where they will only handout veggie menus that day.. even meat-heavy places. And forget asking for cooked meat.. the patrons don't want the smell of it in the air. I was able to order a Cobb salad because the chicken and bacon were already cooked. I understand that's their rule and I had the choice to leave, but we already waited and I was hungry.. plus I like Cobb salads.
For me, it doesn't feel like I've had a *"real" meal unless I've eaten meat. Even if I get full, I still don't feel satiated. My ex used to think that was crazy. Anyone else feel you haven't had a true meal if you didn't eat meat?
*typing "real meal" reminded me of the Holyfield joke after he fought Tyson!
What did you use in place of beans?
