COOL!! What kind and model was it if you don't mind me asking? Otherwise just say "None of your gat dang business"

My DREAM is to someday get that 9 tube Kieninger grandfather clock movement and I don't even CARE what the style of the clock case winds up being. This movement is my FAVORITE one in the world:

Very nice!!

Back in 1988, I bought a grandmother clock kit from the Emperor Clock Company (their "Newport" model, I don't even know if they offer it anymore, mine is cherry). It was pretty easy to assemble, I had a lot of fun "building" it and it keeps perfect time!! I had to send the movement back to them for service once in the early 1990s but it didn't cost too much and it's worked perfectly ever since.

It's a lot like this one:

but I think mine is a slight bit smaller. My kit only cost me $339.00 back then which was a heck of a deal!

Hi, coventrycat86! Yes, the Emperor Clock Company has a reputation for providing quality clock kits. I remember seeing their advertisements in Popular Mechanics magazine when I was growing up. They have a nice web site, which you might like to visit. Enjoy your weekend, coventrycat86! Regards, knightlaird

My Christmas list is short.
My wife and son already purchased the 1200ct cabinet from cheaphumidors.com (due here the 15th! But I know nothing about that. :whistling: )

My biggest wish is that our family Christmas gathering goes well. I did a head count this morning and it looks like 37 people for sure, and maybe a few more.
I'm going to be a cooking fool the 24th and the morning of Christmas :)

The only other personal wish: I would like to celebrate the day by smoking a truly excellent and hard to find cigar with my father. (read aged ISOM's)
I have a few isoms but none with any age to them.

A wish for the masses: That everyone have a merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, happy Kwanza, (insert appropriate celebration here). And that everyone's new year is a happy and prosperous one.

edit for splelling und grammer

I just received a wonderful present courtesy of this post! Thanks CC for unknowingly bringing back numerous memories of my Grandfather, holidays past and great family times...The clock in the photo is identical to the clock kit I helped my Grandfather build about 30 years ago.

Santa may not get it here until Easter but the wife and I are thinking of giving each other new: cabinets, countertop, stove, dishwasher, sink, disposal.

Yeah I just saw our current kitchen on TV last week on That 70's Show.
