1926 ARE NOT "Anniversary"

How many freakin' times I gotta say this? ???

I've heard the #35s are the size to try. Is that the consensus?

No....

First off, you should try a few 1964s and a few 1926s and decide which one you like better. I like them both but I prefer the 1926s over the 1964s. The 1926s are harder to get because they don't make anywhere near as many of them as they do the 1926s.

As far as the 1926s, my least favorite is the #35. I like them ALL (#1, #2, #6 & #9) it just depends on what size you're in the mood for.

For the price I would suggest giving the Camacho SLR Maduro a try, it by far has really hit the spot like the Onyx Reserve #4 did.

...from now on, we shall refer to them as "the fuggin good Padrons" and let it go at that....

Keep an eye out in the Vendor Hot Cigar Deals forum here. Ian Hannah of Billboard Tobacco (CP handle tobaccoleaf1) posts Padron Anni and Serie 1926 specials with some regularity. You just missed a good one but I'm sure he'll have more.

Any of the Annis are good. I'm partial to the Monarcas, Diplomaticos and Torpedos in maduro. Start with these before you get into the 1926, primarily because of price. But once into the 1926, try the #35, #2 and #6 in maduro, #9 in natural.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the heads up!

Oh and after you have broken the bank and need a box of good "cheap" cigars to hold you over...

Give the 5vegas 'A' a try, at 3 bucks a stick they really cant be beat.

These are awaiting their turn in the rotation. I've heard many good things about this cigar and I am looking forward to burning one.

Thanks again! :)

Oh yeah, almost forgot, La Gloria Cubana Reserva Figurados (n or m) are nice medium - full smokes. Really smooth, full flavor smokes.

After proofreading that, I'm gonna have to go buy some sticks today :/.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've had the Wavell in naural but haven't tried any of their other offerings.

Thanks for the info on these. I still have much to learn. The only part of this I didn't understand was this:

The 1926s are harder to get because they don't make anywhere near as many of them as they do the 1926s.

:p :p :)

;)

The Padron 1926 are a great cigar but are priced way too high in my opinion. The 1964's are a much better value and are easier to find. In my opinion the 1964 maduros are at the top of the list for non Cuban cigars.

Yeah, I've been meaning to try one of these, but I can't find any in 5ers or singles and I just can't buy a box without trying one. Who knows I may end up being the single person in the world who doesn't like these.

I've heard the #35s are the size to try. Is that the consensus?

I have bought Padron 64's off CBid in 5-er's at retail many times. The bid prices occasionally go "nuts" so I just bid retail and see what happens. As I've said, more than once, I've won at retail. As mentioned, Ian occasionally has them on sale in five packs and his deals are usually great; worth watching for.

I prefer the maduros to the naturals but to each his own....

Cheers - B.B.S.

Thanks for the info, BBS.

I've never seen them go for even close to retail in the short time I have watched. I'll be more patient and maybe I'll get a little lucky, too.

:)

Have you tried any of the Gurkha line? I'm not sure what everyone else thinks of them, but out of the cigars I have tried, they've been one of my favorites.

E

I've not tried any Gurkhas yet. They're on my list to try, but I've not gotten to them yet.

So many cigars to try, so little time. . .

:)

I definitely would go for the 1926 #35's and #6's in Maduro.
IMHO, the 1926's in Maduro are much better than the Padron 1964 Maduro or Naturals.
