My Mother-in-law was over yesterday and asked, "Why do you and Elke buy so many DVDs? Once you watch them once do you really re-watch them often enough to make it worth the money?"

I had to think about it for a min or two and must agree she is for the most part right.

Then again I have movies I've watched over and over so many times that buying the DVD was worth every cent.

My top 5 films to watch over and over are:

1) Tombstone - I just love this film, it has some of the best lines ever scripted.

2) Full Metal Jacket -

3) The Matrix - All the Matrix movies were good, however none of the sequels came close to the first

4) North by Northwest - I love Hitchcock, but this is my favorite of his films.

5) The Last Boyscout - Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans are just brilliant in this film.

So how about you?

Naughty Nasty Cheerleaders. Volumes 1-11. 12-14 really lost the focus of the series, and were a disgrace to the original director's vision. Volumes 15-19 started to show promise again. Now who among us isn't looking forward to Volume 20, due out in the fall?

I don't own it, but I'll watch when ever it is on TV.

Easy answer ... The Godfather I and II and Goodfellas! I've seen these movies hundreds of times and I buy every "new" or "collector's" edition that comes out.

"Good afternoon, Josh Kaufman"
"Hey honey, it's me"
"Hey baby, what's going on?"
"are you not happy with our, uh, private life?"
"Of course I am sweetheart...what's the problem?"
"Well, you jsut got a giant box of porn that stinks of cigars...this has something to do with those 'cigar parties' you go to doesn't it?"

Planes, Trains and Automobiles - I LOL everytime - By the way - I will take one of those copied DVD's :D

Sorry, I have far too great an amount of respect for our copyright laws to do that. :sign:

Mine are very diverse but all have amazing lines, two of course as you can see in all my posts.

1) Apocalypse Now- see below

2) The Devil's Advocate-see below

3) From Dusk Till Dawn-

Carlos: So, what, were they psychos, or...
Seth: Did they look like psychos? Did they? No. They were fucking vampires. Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't care how crazy they are.

4) Also, The Matrix- but the line when Switch calls Neo a coppertop was classic irony ! (I didn't even catch it until the 3rd watch)

5) Midnight Run-

Jimmy Serrano: Make yourself a sandwich, drink a glass of milk... Do some fuckin' thing.

and

Jonathan Mardukas: I just asked you if you were hurt and you said "Yeah, I'm hurt."
Jack Walsh: That's because you made me say that.
Jonathan Mardukas: Jack, you're a grown man. You're in control of your own words.
Jack Walsh: You're goddamn right I am. Now here come two words for you: Shut the fuck up.

6)Pulp Fiction-

Butch: You okay?
Marsellus: Naw man. I'm pretty fuckin' far from okay.
Butch: What now?
Marsellus: What now? Let me tell you what now. I'ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin', hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'ma get medieval on your ass.

Most movies I'll rent and return. Most of the movies we own are kids movies. We've been revisiting some of them recently and some of the ones I've enjoyed watching are My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Iron Giant, James & The Giant Peach, the LOTR trilogy.

Edited to add: Good call on Apocalypse Now. I've probably seen that close to a dozen times but always in theaters. Same with Blade Runner.
