What cigar purchasing type are you?

Uhmm, my wife is a member of CP. Just how exactly do you think should I answer this Question?

Julie knows that all of my cigars are bonuses from the shop or gifts from CP'ers. :whistling:

I'm a solid 2 on this issue.

My wife know about half of what I spend on cigars (and bourbon :whistling: ).

Since we're currently on a budget until we tear off a chunk for my bullsh*t money I'm a #2
It'll change soon! :whistling:

I would have to say between 2 and 3. I won't lie about it, but sometimes I will just keep my mouth shut. If I have a package coming in and she knows about it though, we have an agreement...every major cigar purchase ($50 or more) for me, equals a new pair of shoes for her. I can't afford outrageous amounts of cigars. My budget is tapped until tax time (unless of course I come across a great deal :whistling: ) CBid has almost got me into some hot water. ???

I'd have to say #3. My wife even told me last week not to tell her how much I spend because she would rather not know. She knows very well that she would have a problem with my cigar spending habits if she knew how many dollars went up in smoke.

TheWife[sup]©[/sup] pretty much knows, but she really doesn't care. I don't get carried away and I NEVER lie about purchases. I don't tell her about every single thing I buy, nor does she tell me about every single thing she buys. We're not keeping secrets, it's just not a big deal as long as we don't overspend. I do the bookkeeping, so I know exactly how much goes where, but I have no idea about the specifics of her purchases.

I'm not sure what number that makes me...

Remember, there are 3 prices for every purchase you try to sneak in or lie about: the price you pay, the price you tell her you pay, and the price you pay when she finds out the price you paid. The last one is a big one...

I try to keep it in balance and just keep it at one price.

:)

This is pretty much how it is at my house and we'll have 25 yrs anniversary next month. True words of wisdom LB.

Cheers,
antaean

If my wife asks I tell her to get her butt back in the kitchen.

You also forgot #6) Don't have a wife or G/F, so you can buy all you want without worrying about your significant other bitching!

Heck yea, there is the category I was looking for so that I could join in. #6 for sure, but instead there are always other people who just look at me and stare after I answer their question when they ask what I spent.

My have wife and I have an agreement: I do not question her shoe purchases nor her my cigars ;)

Married, happily for the most part, for 23 years. :)

If I were to become cornered, would I divulge all? :whistling: No, I'm not stupid. No way would a non connoisseur ever understand.

We've gone through a few phases around here.
Phase 1) "There is a box for you on the table"
Phase 2) "How much are those things?" I dont remember probably (insert 50% of actual cost)
Phase 3) She would tell me how much they cost.
Phase 4) 25% cigar tax was instituted. She now encourages purchases and reminds me when I hav'nt ordered for a while.

I work third shift so I'm online while others sleep and am here when the mailman delivers. The Mrs. doesn't know about any purchases but I don't hide them from her at all. I don't think she can put a value on any of the cigars if she tried but she was in the room once when a guest asked me about what my cigars were worth.

I've never seen her eyes get so big in my life...but she didn't say anything about it.

NO F'IN WAY!

  Mine would tell me....."You know, you don't have to lie to me about what you buy", when I'd get a nice bomb from someone. She'd really not believe me when it was a legitamate non purchase, and a gift. A purchase she never questions though.
