Kinda what I thought after seeing the prices of some more modest hauls, looks like a good selection!
That must have been a million bucks in Euro dollars.
Ha, it's not quite like that
(also small personal story ahead)
I buy my 'want to smokes' in large intervals, save some on shipping aswell. The last big order was in May 2022 due to the Cuban price spike and February before this.
May wasn't planned though but we all know you'd be a fool if you didn't stock up before the 'incident'...
These new ones are going into rotation Q4 2023 - 2024. I just think it's great to have options and really think about what blend is right for a special occasion. This is almost as much fun as a blind taste test. Really makes my happy to define the right blend
.
But both ('want to' and 'blind smokes') serve the same purpose, understanding the thought process of the blender. See the AVO Improvisation and camacho liberty series that have annual releases for instance. What made the blender/firm create their next blend what aspects did they keep what did they change. How did it change the taste profile.
Sure singles don't tell the whole story but its nice to peruse before you decide to get a 3 or 5 pack. Cigars are indeed a 'million bucks' if you don't hold yourself back a bit.
But Cigars are there to smoke! so I mostly use this monthly subscription for my regular smokes, I smoke januari received smokes in June etc. etc. We only have one subscription service here in the netherlands but I know it's owners so it's great to tease them a bit on each month's selection
.
But since I don't decide what cigars I get each month it's always a great challenge to find out what they have to tell.
Rough total of part 1 and 2 (see above posts) was about 400 euro/dollar so about a box price of a regular production stick. Not that extreme as it may seems for 21 sticks
