I just got a Oliva Melanio Maduro. How are they? And the camacho triple Maduro? Also where did you get these from
This week, the Feds brought me...

Box of Camacho Triple Maduro Robustos, which came with a Corojo 4-pack and some swag (including a new cutter, which maybe will help me learn how to cut a damn cigar). Plus 20 Camacho American Barrel Aged Robustos. (I like Camachos.)

Nice box, btw (hey, that's what I said!).

Oh shit I forgot to tell you to, I never thought of this but my buddy did it the other day, take your cutter and place it flat on a table and put your cigar in it and cut. Works pretty well

Hi Armer,

Remember, I'm a newbie at this, so take anything I say with a large grain of salt.

I picked up a fiver of the Melanios, probably from Cigar Page, a while back. When I got around to smoking one, I was blown away. They are strong, full-bodied (as I understand the term), but not harsh or ... whatever. Just a rich, delicious flavor. I've since smoked a few other Olivas, and they've all been good. But I like the Melanios, particularly the Maduros. The Connecticuts are much milder, but still pretty strong.

The Triple Maduro Camachos are awesome. I have a large Savoy full of Camachos of various sorts, and I really like all of them. The Corojos in particular. The Triple Maduros I think were "on sale" (as far as I can see, cigars being on sale is kind of like Harbor Freight having a "sale", but hey, I like Harbor Freight, too!). So I grabbed a box.

Most of this pile came from Cigars Daily, I think one of the Camacho groups came from Cigar Page (there were actually a couple more orders this week, I just didn't take pics of all of them). I much prefer ordering from Cigars Daily (or Zeal or Small Batch or Famous Smoke Shop), but now and then I can't resist the offerings elsewhere.

Smoke that Melanio and let us know what you think!

Thanks, but unless you get the cigar "plumb" (as we used to say in carpentry), it's just another way to make a crooked cut. I'm beginning to wonder, why don't they just make the damn things with the "cut" already there? Must be the cutter lobby....

For sure. And I'll definitely post it when I smoke it. Oh and the camacho Corojos are amazing

Been digging an oldie - the Tatuaje "Mexican Experement" smokes, both version 1 and 2. Like the profile, makes a nice change up from the CC's that I usually smoke. Got boxes of ME / ME-II in robusto and 5-ers of the toro.

What is the difference between the ME-1 and the ME-2? We were discussing this last night on the V-Herf and couldn’t figure it out.

Obviously the blend is different. ME-2's are darker (think more strong coffee / espresso, less chocolate) and more intense flavored, very much like the TAA's from Tatuaje in 2019. In fact, the ME2 and the 2019 TAA are very similar.....very. Band also says "ME2" on it, the ME1 doesn't have any such markings. A different palate than the good Nicaraguan wrappers, these are a really nice change in my evening smoke. At least until I quit plowing through them..... 😀

I keep telling myself to call into the VHerf, and....well....I keep forgetting. One of these days.....

Mass Effect 1 was legendary in its own right. ME2 was good, but definitely just a bridge to get to the culmination in ME3. Worth a replay.
