WE ARE

Big 10 competition this year and the fact that the Big 10 doesn't have a conference championship game. Them conference championship games is where a lot of great teams falter after battling hard all season long.

Lets stop the whining about the conference championships, if they were really that bad for the "conference" why still have them? The simple fact is that schools/teams choose to participate to make money. Bottom line, end of story.

Don't forget that I was the absolute first person telling you that Ohio State might still get a title shot, win over Penn State, Big-12 canniblism, Bama losing to LSU, and USC is just as likely to drop another game as not....

So Ohio State with a win has a good shot a playing for the title

Who's whining? Does it completely elude you that I am a Penn State fan?

The financial motivations are immeterial. The fact is that many top teams fall in their respective conference championship games and teams who do not have to play an extra game against another top notch opponent benefit from that when it comes to season end rankings.

Joe Pa and PSU have always been my second favorite team! I hope Joe can retire on a high note this year.

First let me apologize if it came off that I was accusing you of whining. I realize that you are a Penn State fan. I just finished a conversation with a friend and he was whining about it. It was not my intention to make it seem like you were whining.

As far as conference championships go, it also gives teams a chance to solidify there position as a top team if they win. Arguements can be made either way, but the championships are a voted on by the schools/team. To hear a team that voted to play a conference championship say that its not fair strikes me as a little nutty.

At the end of the day you need to win the games that you play, against teams both rank and non. If you do that it doesn't matter how many games you play.

Most of the time there is a Big Ten Championship game. It usually involves tOSU and Michigan. Not this year though.

That fumble in the 4th was the turning point. See you in the championship game.
Have a great weekend guys.

Breedy, we cool.

But I really hope Penn State destroys Ohio State this coming Saturday.

Hats off to Penn State for playing a very sound game with no turnovers and I believe only one penality which was the offensive pass interference on the first series, which was declined.

The turning point to me was Ohio State's return teams, Small made me cringe everytime he went to field a punt and the kick off bouncing off Maurice Wells was terrible.

Pryor played a very good game, but showed that he was a freshman in the end. Tried to do a little to much on the fumble, floated the ball on the deep routes, and probably should have scarmbled for a first down then went out of bounds instead of throwning the INT.

None of that takes away from the fact that Penn St. shut Beanie down, and keep Pryor from running as well. Add a back-up QB coming in and managing the game at the end. Well done Penn St. and it looks like I will still have a Big-10 school to cheer for in the BCS Championship.
