Well, the good ol' FAA is finally sending me out of town for another training course, this time in Washington DC. I'll be there from 9/16 through 9/22, staying in the Sofitel at Lafayette Square.

I sure wouldn't mind meeting up with fellow CPers in the evening, if ya have the time. I could also use hints on the best B&Ms to visit. Unfortunately, I won't have a rental car, so they'll need to be nearby or not far off the Metro.

You can walk down to Draper's on 14th street between F and G streets. Then walk just over a block to Shelly's Backroom on F street.

I'd be all over it, but I am in grad school in the day and work at night. I think the closest metro stop at your hotel is the Metro Center on the red line. Actually, its a hub for the red, orange, blue, and yellow lines.

That is the weekend that every year I try to venture to Richmond for the big British Car show on Browns Island but this year, I'm not going....

If I was, I'd definitely make some time for ya Brett as I'd be passing through DC because I highly doubt I'm ever going to make it up to Alaska before I die.
 
Go figure. After spending close to four months in the DC area and left we could of had a herf. Will have to catch you all next time. Enjoy your stay down there. :thumbs:
 
I'm in town and down to Herf. Like Prometheus said, Drappers is the best inside the district. My B&M is the best just outside of the District. There is Shelley's which is right by Metro Center which is that last cigar bar in town. Let me know when you can meet once some of the others chime in.
 
Brett I'm just north of DC; in Rockville. I can do weekends 16/22, weekdays are bad since I have to pickup kids an homework that's an every evening affair. LMK what the plans are and if time permits I'll be in.
 
Howdy guys...I'm leavin' the house in Peters Creek late tonight. I'll be arriving at Reagan on Sunday, at 1:37pm so I'll have some settling in and relaxing time...not that I expect any of ya to be in town on a Sunday. During the week, I'll be in class from 8am to 4pm, about 5 blocks from the hotel, on 18th St.

Jon, I'll PM you my cell number to you momentarily. Anyone else need it for a meet-up?
